So i almost always watch random clips on youtube while i grind (~5 tables) and smtimes i watch a series like 2 and a half men or w/e.

Would like to know what u guys watch while grinding (the ones that actually do watch something) series/movies whatever. Also small side question do u think watching smthing rly decreases ur winrate by alot or not (that is if ur not grinding more than 6 tbls) i myself think it makes grinding much more fun and makes me grind more which results in more hands and pays out for the loss in bb/100

I'd like to think that only focusing on poker will make me play better.

I know few guys who do it and they win ok. Don't think it's a problem if you maintain positive winrate but would be bored and not play otherwise.

Guys I know mostly watch anime while grinding.

Having a monotone background like a movie you know/old series can actually increase concentration (same with music) if it prevents you from worse distractions like facebook/skype. There has actually been some research on this (multimedia multitasking is the official term) and it basically shows that this isn't true multitasking (like texting while driving) and there is almost never a true significant negative effect found on concentration.

I do think its best if you already know the episodes tho, or atleast you should know the structure, so don't watch the new House of cards/breaking bad or w.e when grinding.

Some people can do this and play roughly as well as before, but I find it distracting. I'll catch myself avoiding some small pot I should have ripped from my opponents, and that's why I don't mess with it.

I try not to even listen to music while playing

I like to listen to lounge / chillout music while grinding, helps me concentrate better and also is great for tilt control.

I always listen to music because I feel bored in 5 minutes without music and I don't realy pay atention. I listen to 181.fm

Ya watching anything is really poor. Every bit of mental energy you expend on watching something is less energy you spend on poker.

Tho as i said i can grind much more cus it gets less tiring so it pays out anyway

Usually put up a youtube window with example, highstakes poker. Makes me feel like a idiot when I loose and tilt and then look at them when they loose hundred thousands of dollar

I thought people who concentrated on anything but poker while playing were weeded out long ago.

used to get away with this years ago. Games too mean nowadays, you def need to be putting near 100% of your concentration in your pokering.
