LAX is hot, but it's a lot smaller than Pure.... not necessarily a bad thing, but Pure is still pretty hot....

is there a group of any guys here that are trying to get a house together to stay for a few weeks? I know Clayton made that one thread and I PM'ed him but haven't really heard anything back about it.
02-22-2008 , 03:15 AM
a few weeks isnt enough for most commitments. they wanted 6 weeks afaik and in my house we want the same. a few weeks is an awkward time between too long and too short.
02-22-2008 , 03:47 AM
well yeah, I understand that completely. I just haven't heard about any other houses. At this point w/o knowing anything I'm interested. I lived out there for 2006 and am planning on going back after summer but wouldn't mind being out there for the WSOP and definitely don't want to stay at my buddies house with him and his wife for extended time.

May attend solely due to this mixed NLHE and PLO game, as well as club night would be sick. I may not stay for full week anyone know approx dates or schedule being set up for mixed game, golf, club etc.?

I wanted to go to the gun range last year but didn't manage so I might be interested this time around.

Yeah, good luck with that.
Last year we got carded on more than one occassion. Ages of the persons involved are 27,31,31 and 35. The 27 year old looks younger but I don't see how any of the rest of us could be considered underage.
It looks like some places take carding very seriously.

meh, i got carded like 3 times last year and every time by a cocktail waitress whilst playing. from my understanding unless its glaringly obvious that ur <21 its the cocktail waitress' job to ID people when u order any sort of drink [water included fwiw]. just try not to pwn some old guy to hard so he takes a hissy fit and calls the floor to ID you.

clubs/bars etc is obv a different story.
02-23-2008 , 06:03 PM
I don't really ever get carded at poker rooms anymore (23 yo). When I turned 21 I was only carded once at Bally's by an apologetic floorman who said they had to be careful about carding because of something that just happened.

Hell, they let Barrin play in our private mixed game at Caesar's and he looks 15 (and is <21).

I never got carded by a cocktail waitress. I think they assume that if you're already sitting, you're 21.

The only time I was carded was at clubs and once at the venetian.

My dad has a full beard and moustache and got IDd when he was 42 in vegas.

I got carded at the Monte Carlo and the Luxor last year. Those are both really small poker rooms, places like the Wynn, Venetian, MGM, Rio and Mirage didn't really seem to care.

Got carded at both strip clubs. The Rhino actually gave futuredoc a bunch of **** about his ID because he listed himself at 6'2" on the card and he's really about 6'1".

what does a poker room do if they catch you? just tell you to GTFO i assume?
02-24-2008 , 01:26 AM
I'm not sure, but yeah I think they take you to the cage to cash out and toss you. It may or may not get your barred from the casino in the future, but I can't speak to that as I was old enough last year.

Edit: If you just stuck to the Rio during the series I would guess there's a minuscule chance you get carded since the place is packed and they're grossly understaffed on floor people.
02-26-2008 , 01:38 AM
what they do is say "im sorry, i need another forum of ID"

and you say "okay, i'll have to go up to my room and get it, i apoligize for the inconvenience"

but seriously, to those who are <21 that look 21:

1) get a good fake
2) tip the floor people (red chip for the guy seating you, red chip for your chiprunner. this is a under 21 tax)
3) dont start sh*t with random people, be quiet and only speak when spoken to

ive played in bellagio, venetian, wynn, and caesar's, and the only place that even carded me was venetian.

Typically the policy is as follows.

First they lull you in to dropping your guard by saying, "oh that's no problem, go ahead. Table 5 seat 7." Table 5 Seat 7 is actually a security code for "dead boy walking." Then as you are walking towards the table with your chips, a security guard tasers you in the back. If you happen to lose voluntary control of your muscles and send your chips flying, the "bridal bouquet" rule is put in to effect, where all chips are transferred to whomever is closest to where they land.

For 15-30 seconds you will be laying on the floor unable to move. During this time you will be bound at the hands and feet, and a black or dark grey cotton bag will be placed over your head. You will be placed on a pushcart and brought in to a back room. Beyond this point we can only speculate, as follow up actions have coincidentally always taken place in rooms in which the video surveillance equipment is out of order.

But what do they do to your family?

"Cleaners" do not work for housekeeping. If one shows up in your room, ...forget it, it's probably too late by then anyway.
02-27-2008 , 10:03 AM
Renting a house with a bunch of people seems like the best/relatively cheapest way to spend a month in vegas right?
Is now the best time to search for it or when is the 'deadline' to search for houses to rent at a good price? ideally I would like to decide in 4-6 weeks instead of now but if it gets too expensive by that time I obviously have to organise something sooner.
I can imagine it becomes more expensive (harder to find a good spot) the closer it gets to june.
02-27-2008 , 10:11 AM
Mejis,

I'd start now if I were you.
02-27-2008 , 10:18 AM
k thanks, thought so. It does seem like the best option if you compare prices to hotels.
02-28-2008 , 11:15 AM
