??? Talking drivel means you don't know what you're talking about or talking rubbish. Unless someone has changed the meaning recently.

I might actually go to this. Coming back from Thailand Feb 29th and don't really have much to do for the next couple months. Want to play in some events as well but will probably have to get some staking unless I run super hot.

Definitely up for this. Myself and a friend are probably going to arrive in LV on the 30 June and are staying for at least a month before we do some US traveling. We're renting a house and shud have everything booked in the next week or so. Things im interested in:

eating;
pokering;
nightclubs;
golf;
gun range; and
[if we get enuff people and its not tooo expensive] a flipament into the ME.

Anyone know how long it takes to fly from Florida to Vegas?

5 hours give or take. Just make sure your iPod is charged.

I don't think a EU citizen needs a visa unless his name is Jay Riall.

When you guys ask hotel questions please be sure to mention your budget and whether you are looking for a roommate. Some affordable mid-strip hotels include:

Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, Harrah's, Bally's, Paris, Treasure Island and Imperial Palace.

Unless you get a sweet airline/hotel package, you will almost always find the best rates by contacting the hotel directly.

It's on the South end of the strip across from MGM (good poker room). It's a LONG (read don't do it) walk to Bellagio, CP or Wynn. It's usually full of families because it has the best arcade on the strip. Give me a few other places that pop up in that price range and I'll make a recommendation. Excal isn't bad and for the right price is definitely worth considering, but there could be better options like Flamingo (great pool).

Things I would enjoy with some SSNLers:

Dinner getting to know people
Any of a number of shows that I'd like to see
Golf
Strip Clubs
Renting Dune Buggies

Probably some other things I will think of later.
holy **** i want to ride a dune buggy

How are the rates at the Palms? Lots of young people stay there right? The one with the Playboy suite. I realize it's not on the strip but I'm in L.A. and have a car so it's np. Looks like it's either this trip or Brazil(some friends of mine are goin that weekend) for me if I make more money than I plan on by then.

I think I'm gonna book at Bellagio cuz I ball hard, and their 2/5 game is ridiculously soft, even for a live game.
01-31-2008 , 04:53 PM
If you were going to stay out there for like 4-6 weeks (+ 1st time in vegas) what would it be better getting an apartment? If not hotel recommendations, I have no idea how pricing even works so if you could tell me what low end scale and middle end scale pricing is that would be great

damn why was this locked before.

anyhow im all booked up

june 28th till july 6th. staying at the luxor. me and mike macintosh are going and spliting the room. total cost for round trip plus room, 1042$.

02-12-2008 , 03:40 PM
most likely, i will either make the trip for this or already be there at some msnl house or something
02-13-2008 , 03:17 AM
I'll be there.

Hurrah, unlocked, thanks 4 2 it.

I've only met Tufat from SSNL before, nobody else. Would be good to get involved in this too, I'm in. I haven't been to Vegas before - where should I stay? I don't even know what kind of hotel prices there are, but I'm fine up to perhaps $200/night.

I'm also gonna buy in direct to the WSOP. Anyone want a percent or two? Face value, and to let you know in advance, I kind of suck with 30 bb right now, I can only play with 10 or with 50. Obviously I'm going to practice some, but it's not that high a priority. PM me if you do, I'm only going to sell to 50%, and have sold 30% so far.

Sciolist,

If you are buying into a WSOP event, then you can get a rate at a Harrah's Property (Rio, Harrah's, Bally's, Flamingo, Caesar's). Check out the WSOP website or the B&M sticky for details. I'm certain the rates average less than $200 per night.

Ta for the advice
02-13-2008 , 05:15 PM
Sciolist - If you're going to get one of those places, I have 2 recommendations:

If money's a factor, go Bally's. It's right in the middle of the strip - location can't be beat. Right across the street is Caesars, which is where I'd go if you didn't mind spending extra. But def. stay on the strip. That's where most of the action is. You can always cab to Rio or the Palms or Hard Rock or wherever you want to go. But you'll spend most of your time on the main strip.

Long? I found it to be a fun and semi-short walk, then again I'm used to walking no need for me to stand on those moving walkways.

Right now I'm planning to go to Malta during that period, but if that gets canceled I'm down for this. Since I barely play poker anymore I'm a bit short on funds though, will I be ok if I bring 1k for a week for my accommodation/food? I will not take money lost from poker off of the 1k.

Will be a expensive week if I go anyways (ticket would already be 1k) . Oh and what are the golf rates in vegas?
02-14-2008 , 08:07 PM
ka, Cumulonimbus, Smellmuth and I played one course for maybe 30/35. Garystevenson and I played another that was more like 50 or 60 if I recall correctly. Both were nice courses, though god its hot as balls out there. Go out early in the morning(for the second course, our tee time was like 6:30, I hadn't even slept from the previous day)

really interested in going (already told orange) but finding roommates may be a problem. Guess I need to "socialize" more in the cheese and life threads.
