Vegas Get Together 2008

July 3-6, 2008

Each of the past 2 years, members of the SSNL and uNL forums have gotten together in Vegas over the opening weekend of the WSOP ME. This year, we would like to invite all the strategy forums to join us. In years past we have arranged for a dinner followed by playing poker at private tables in a well known poker room on the strip.

This year’s agenda will include dinner and poker for one evening (more evenings will be added depending on number of attendees and interest) along with a few other opportunities for 2+2ers to socialize together.

Dinner and cards will be on Thursday night July 3, 2008 at a restaurant and card room on/near the Strip that will be announced once we have an idea of the approximate number of attendees. If you are interested in attending please RSVP.

As for other events, the plan is to match up 2+2ers who express interest in each activity. SSNL has found in the past that groups of 6-8 seem to work best, so this year we are asking that you include a list of activities that interest you and you will be paired up with other 2+2ers with a similar interest to coordinate the activity. For things like golf or Grand Canyon tours, we will try to provide you with additional information to help you coordinate this.

Here is a list of POTENTIAL other activities. Whether they happen or not is entirely dependent upon interest. If there is another activity that you would like to propose just send me a PM.

Golf (Win monies on prop bets with tuq)
Night Clubs (Bottle Service at the hottest spots. You never know who might show up.)
Hanging out at the pool (For those who are awake during daylight hours)
Grand Canyon helicopter tour (Perfect for those bringing spouses/significant others)
Las Vegas Gun Range (Shooting machine guns is fun!)

Okay, so it’s 5 months away, why are we bothering you now? Well, it will take some time to get this organized. Last year some folks from Europe rented a house for a month or so. The early notice is to give everyone enough time to make plans. Right now, if you are genuinely interested in attending please RSVP to orange or me. As we get closer and need a firm headcount, you be contacted to confirm.

Questions? Just shoot me a PM and I’ll do my best to answer them. This notice will be updated as we get closer to the event.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL 2+2 PUBLISHING EVENT AND 2+2 PUBLISHING DOES NOT ENDORSE NOR IS IT AFFILIATED WITH ANY OF THESE ACTIVITES.

This was a great time last year.

Last week orange, 42it and I did a serious biz conference call regarding this and we have a lot of good ideas and really want to make this an awesome time for everyone. We will be mainly including strat forums here with occasional off-topic posters.

Wow, I'd love to go to this. Just an FYI, costco travel I've found is the absolute lowest prices for vacay packages to vegas for air/hotel accomodations

AE6, you should be able to play poker with no problems, they never ID only strict ID'ing for the table games.

I've been to Vegas with my wife about 8 times and she is never bored. Just give her a wad of cash & point he towards the malls...

ike,

Last year a few people brought theres, im sure this year a few will as well. We are looking into a grand canyon trip figuring they might enjoy that, and there are pools and such for during the day.

All,

I am looking for a roommate to split a room with from the 2nd-7th, cheap as possible. I looked at casino royale, its 335 for one person at that rate, so figure 170/person. Its located right on the strip and I mean, I dont plan on spending a whole lot of time in there.

my fiance loved vegas when I took her last year. plenty of shopping for the ladies.

i reallly hope I could take part in this. I'm unsure bc I'm getting married on 6/1 and the then to be wife will be training for her new job at that time.

ike,

Here are a few things to entice your lady:

1) Mandara Spa at Planet Hollywood
2) The Producers (with Tony Danza) at Paris
3) Spamalot at Wynn
4) Price is Right at Bally's
5) Beatles Love at Mirage
6) Mandalay Bay pool
7) Helicopter tour of Hoover Dam and picnic lunch in Grand Canyon
8) Lots of shopping and fine dining
9) Excellent nightclubs
10) Eleventy billion Cirque de Soleil shows

Unless she is an old school Bible belter, there will be plenty for her to enjoy. She is welcome to come to dinner and meet all your degen poker playing Internet friends as well.

If you have any other questions, just ask.

Seeing as I'll be living there by then, count me in.

Wait, hold on...I didn't think most of you guys were old enough?

EMac,

Casino Royale is definitely a solid call. I haven't stayed there in awhile (color me shocked at the rate these days, goddamn) and while it may not be the nicest joint by a mile it has the following going for it:

- don't have to walk ten miles to your room
- low low limit craps and blackjack (I like this about craps so I can have money all over the damned place without having a heart attack)
- a Denny's attached for a potential late night drunken grease run
- very easy access to the Venetian and Mirage, among others

If I do this trip I can't see me doing anything but drinking, golfing (while drinking) and pokering (while drinking). I live in the Grand Canyon State so that's old school to me. I'll ask Alobar if he has any interest in going.

tuq,

You read my mind. I knew it was love at first sight.

Good chance I'll make it.
