Don't know.....just called for quotes last week. Should probably look into that especially if i'm considering the trip. This is just something I want to do and need to do. I've never lived outside of my hometown county or Las Vegas lol. A 3 month stint is straight up my alley just to get a feel and an experience along with meeting people that are in the same boat as me. I'm going to do a lot more reading in the coming days.

Re: SSNL Goes to Thailand

Probably the oldest at 26 then.
Edit: People complaining about the cost, lol. I dunno what it costs but being around a couple of other poker players should improve your game enough to cover most costs if you think about it like that.
Edit: I do wonder how troublesome it is to set up a local bank account/cash out money from pokersites and whatnot though, probably best to just use your home account + CC?

yep oldest at 26. I still am not too sure what to do about everyone who wants to go. Does anyone know enough about visas to inform us? I hear 3 month visa, than a re-entry to the US is ideal.
22 here
Im thinking everyone who wants to go for 3months in January leave as a group, and we think of a way to accomodate the 1monthers.

Re: SSNL Goes to Thailand

im going to thailand with ShipitFMA in august, if all goes well and i lose half my roll playing chinese I'll stop by for a little while. Ill be 22 by then and have spent a few weeks in thailand previously so know what to expect.

also, anywhere else in thailand > phuket imo

the reason why phuket is so expensive (by thailand standard) is because its so westernized

Contact a thai embassy in your home country and apply for a 60 day tourist visa. When you arrive in Thailand, you can go to an immo office and extend it another 30 days.

Depends on what you're looking for. Samui is very nice. A bit more exotic, but much the same as Phuket. Bangkok is the place to go if you want to party. I definetly recommend spending at least a few nights there. There are a ton of other small cheaper islands around, but the nightlife usually sucks and the internet is ****.

Just come to Phuket since myself and around 10 other 2+2ers will be here in the fall .

Edit: If I were coming to Thailand to play poker I would live in either Bangkok, Phuket, or Samui (and maybe Chang Mai). You can always island hope from any of these places if you're looking to get away from everything.

Edit 2: And BKK, Phuket and Samui are all relatively expensive compared to thai standards .

Anyways, definitely talk to me about it Alex, you should definitely go. We are meeting Thursday at 11pm EASTERN FYI as well.

Even if Phuket is a little mroe expensive its worth it if there is
A) 2+2ers everywhere
B) Stable internet connection (kind of important I think)
C) Cheaper places within a short traveling distance
