I should do this. I suck absolute balls at speaking though, can't make the tones. I guess if I can understand more or less everything speaking would come easier later on.

So a bit less than 9k overall of the top of my head.

Wow, those are completely different costs than what I have budgeted. Did you go to a special venue for the wedding? My fiancee would like a castle of some sorts, which obviously blows up the price.
God I hope I can convince my fiancee to take a <€500 wedding dress but I don't think that will be easy. Dumb ass thing you were once in your life, shouldn't even be €500.
What kind of food did you serve, or is food in general just a ton cheaper in the states? I looked around a bit and even decent buffets start at €40 per person.

my boss is completely tone deaf and can't tell the difference between the tones. but because he can get the words in the right order, it makes sense in the end. chinese is a very contextual language

This just cracked me up for some reason.
One of the many reasons I shall be delaying marriage for as long as possible

We got a bit of a discount because we were referred but I think that was only 10% or so. They served some bruchetta as a starter when we were taking pictures and then dinner was a buffet with baked ziti, grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, salad, and rolls.
Our venue was the local zoo which actually turned out pretty cool. The lodge they have there has this deck that extends over a small lake and behind that there are giraffes. That's where the ceremony was and then the reception /party was inside the lodge.

Sounds pretty cool. I think we will want to marry in the late afternoon, have a short period of nothing with some drinks/snacks and then a really nice dinner, no party.
We will have a really small wedding so I hope I can find a castle with spaces suitable for small groups. Problem with castles is that they are big and thus less suitable for small groups .

Any one have any experience solo canoeing or kayaking? I'd like to get more into fishing as I live right next to a few rivers and being able to go out on my own would be great.

Yep! Just bought a kayak two months ago, actually. It's pretty fun after you get used to positioning the kayak for fishing. I'd say I spent 90% of the time positioning and 10% fishing for my first few trips on the river.
Kind of scary up here though, considering if I fall in the water, it's pretty much instant hypothermia. The water temps are somewhere around 38-39 as of right now.
