Played 1/2nl live last night and wanted to share a pretty fun hand

Villain ( really nice guy ) in small blind chair next to me


4 limp to me

Dealt A 9 o

Raise to 15

2 callers

Flop comes

Ah 9d Jh

Villain bets 10

UTG+2 folds

I raise to 25

Villain calls

------ I'm thinking he has a middle pair , or a weak ace

Turn is K h

Checks to me

Bet 45

Calls

River is a 10h

Villain checks to me

I bet 70

Villain who is basically sitting in my lap turns to me staring me in the face and flips over

10 10 and goes " DO YOU BEAT THIS?"

I look at board and matter of factly state , well it's not a boat

Snap folds , scoop the $175 pot or whatever it was for my largest pot of night



I feel if this had been 1/2 online I'd of just gotten stacked because NO SPEECHPLAY


I've never posted a hand before so this may look ******ed I don't know

Thoughts on how I played it?

This was also my 2nd time playing live and I enjoyed it a lot more than online , i always get distracted and can't focus for more than an hour and blow all my winnings , I didn't have anything to do but focus and I feel it made me play ALOT better

I play a ton online , I just get distracted and blow my winnings , its harder for me to do that live.



I may just try to play 1 table and play on an ipad or something so i cant start watching Doug Polk videos or whatever other dumb **** I do

If the player is bad enough to get to the river with this hand, the likeliness of them folding this is close to nil.

Are you referring to me with 2 pair or to the villain hitting a set on river ?

Funny part is that board ran out Ah 9d Jh Kh Th. A boat isn't possible.

I could easily have AQ KQ , Qq with my ranges here and I just hit the nuts on that turn

I misread the board fwiw didn't realize it was a one card straight.

betting turn and river both probably -ev plays in the long run
