QK - 3 of a kind, Should we have gone broke in this spot?

1/2 Live, Have stack of about 200$
C/O raises to 12$, Button calls, We call out of the BB with Q

Flop comes K
K 9
We check, C/O checks, button bets 25, We call, C/O folds
Turn comes 3
We check, Button goes all in for the rest of our stack approx 170 more.
We call, Button shows A K
River bricks, we lose our stack
I felt like our opponent would have 3-bet AK from the button. I also felt like the turn bet would have been smaller with pocket 9' or K-9.
Was this a cooler situation, or should I have been able to get away from it?
I feel like the villain would play K-10, K-J and K-Q the same way?
