As for other reasons I do know of a player 7 years ago or more who had bragged a little too much to the wrong people. It really is as crazy as it sounds, a mixture of mafia/corrupt police officers, kidnapped/tied him up and held him to ransom until he cashed out his poker accounts and transferred them the money. He fled the country and stars allowed him to change his SN.
more details on that pls

Sorry guys I really can't give any more details than that, the guy never made it public back then so I doubt he wants his name or screen name associated with it now either. If he sees this and decides he wants to elaborate then that will be up to him (though i don't know if he still plays poker or not).

As said though, that's the only legitimate reason i've ever heard for changing a screen name. being a div and using your real name shouldn't be an excuse to change your SN.

hello, can somebody explain to me how VPP's are calculated?
I yesterday calculated in excel howmany volume per stake and level i need a month and now when i watch in the cashier the VPP numbers make no sense.
I get 43.81VPP 7.5$(PT4) rake on 10NL
following this link (dutch)
http://www.pokerstars.be/nl/vip/earn/
it states that i earn
on 2nl 9.5vpp/$; on 5NL 8vpp/$; on 10nl 6.75vpp/$; any higher 5.25vpp/$

6.75*7.5=50.625 not 43.81 wich is 5.84VPP/$

I already submit a ticket but that will take a while probally and i want to get ahead of the other days still to come this month.

Does anyone know howmuch VPP you get per $ rake?
I need it to set myself volume goals.
the dutch site I can acces gives wrong information and this support guy replied with
I quote "Since beginning of 2016, players do not earn VPPs for pot-limit and no-limit ZOOM (and ring games at stakes $5/$10 or higher, 8-game and HORSE $20/$40 or higher, and other limit games at stakes $20/$40 and higher ). "

+ What is a VIP playerpoint?
VPPs awarded per $1.00 USD in rake collected VPPs awarded per €1.00 EUR in rake collected
$0.01/$0.02 10 €0.01/€0.02 11.5
$0.02/$0.05 8.5 €0.02/€0.05 9.5
$0.05/$0.10 7 €0.05/€0.10 8.5

This is NOT correct information

Hello,

I'm not sure it's the right place to ask the question. I play on a different site other than PS(Winamax). But there's no zoom action, which makes it hard to play in huge volume. So I was wondering how much rakeback money on average can I get if I were to play 2000 nl100 ZOOM hands/day * 25 days/month = 50000 hands just to compare. I assume one gets the rakeback by exchanging cash with points? I will have to play on PS.fr though.

Also, do nl100 and nl100 zoom have the same rake?

I've never played on PS. Thanks in advance.

so they see their numbers and feel like man we are still losing money...all right lets cut more vip rewards to make up for it

when all that do is make more people run away from pokerstars wich causes them to lose money because less volume less trafic less deposits less rake

how smart do you really need to be to understand basic maths ?

they should invest in more vip programs and air it on TV instead of stupid soccer players thats doesnt know what a range means

what a great time i Choose to restart grinding some Zoom

the dream is oficially over guys just got this email

Dear XXX,

Today we published an article about how we are modernising our rewards program and the new direction we are taking. The new program will be a fundamental shift in how we reward players.

We are replacing our current monthly rakeback model with one that will take into account a variety of factors including volume, stakes, frequency of play and net deposits. Based on your previous play, you will likely be significantly impacted by the new changes. We cannot give you an exact figure, but in the most extreme cases some players will receive up to 85% less than under the previous program.

We are mindful of the significance of these changes and the negative impact they may have on you, and are communicating these changes now so that impacted players can plan accordingly. The article goes into more depth about the reasons why we are changing our rewards program, and can be viewed here.

We’ll continue to update you when more information is available regarding a specific launch date for the new rewards program in your area.
Regards,
Stars VIP Club

So many countries/ governments will ban stars in next 12-36 months that investors need to keep their rake in order to save the day. If I need to bet I'd say thats the main reason. It's unprofitable to pay licences in all countries, and all European countries started developing/ already developed licenced system for online gaming. For instance, from where I come from the new law says that online casinos need to pay 500k € annually and have at least one real life casino in the country (another 500k for the licence plus operational costs) to be aligible to offer online gaming. I just wait a day when I will receive the email saying that stars won't be available from next monday or something...

Long story short- big markets such as france will have their sites (.fr, .es. etc) and .com will exist for 3rd world unregulated countries which number drops continuosly plus they're not that interesting markets.

= time to extract money, save the day, and set new, smaller foundations for the next 5 years revenues plan.
