after all these years it is truly amazing that people are still going on about how short stackers are terrible at poker and how easy it is to exploit them yata yata yata

A breakeven pro is still sucking 50-100k a year in rakeback. this is money from the poker economy. Duh!

i don't know how many times i have seen some moron write

rapid descent of winrates and decrease of fish to reg ratios. games getting smaller as fish dry up and regs move down. international player pool decoupling. no hope in site for a US market. lack of competition/stars monoply.

i don't know how long u have been a pro but the general trajectory is frieghtening.

so why dont you tell me the following

what is your current hourly rate. what stakes do you play? what is ur hands/hr ? what is your bb/100?

then tell me how many years you have been a pro and a comparison of the figures above for those years.

my hourly rates over the last 4 years have gone something like

80/70/60/40

over the last eight years something like

400/300/150/100/80/70/60/40


i consider myself to be an above average player although i suppose everyone does.

over this entire period people have been saying "learn to play against regs"... there will
always be a limit to how much you can win off another reg. nlhe is not that hard of a game to play. In SSNL, the rake is VERY HIGH... this means that your margins are small.

it is much easier to tell someone at 25/50 to beat other regs than it is at nl200 - THE RAKE IS TOO HIGH.

anyways i look forward to ur response.

edit: i do not mean to say that one should not attempt to get better as a player and play better againsayt other regs but to say that the recreational player is not requirement to earn a decent rate at ssnl is a bit hilarious to me.

SaltyPickles has just mentioned some true facts that are showing that your posts haven`t been thought out properly.
Sure it is important to get better and better and everyone should have the goal to be/become one of the topregs at his homelimit.
But no one can ignore the fact that onlinepoker is no more equally profitable as a few years ago.
You can see it easily at the facts that the average Winrates have dfecreased significantly.
Sure atm onlinepoker is still very profitable, when you belong to the better regs at your homelimit,
but this might change when achievable WRs will decrease further w/o rake-reductions...

that makes sense, competition at 25/50 is pretty soft. regs are all weak tight, have no clue and are easy to run over.
