It just totally depends mate on many things, most notably the accounts history with the bookie.

Naturally first of all they are way more likely to take big bets on things they have massive liquidity on. The champions league final is unlikely to be fixed and they will take so much money on it its irrelevant almost to them what the result is, so you will prob be able to bet bigger on it than some random low ranking snooker match.

All bookies limit winners eventually as well. Usually to pennies. Some have larger/longer tolerance than others but they all protect their bottom line quickly. The only bookie I know of that NEVER limits winners is pinnacle.

Even a big bookie like william hill can start to moan if you want more than a couple hundred quid on some stuff.

I try and play now and again for fun, was considering getting some lessons as am sure there must be some basic errors that can be corrected, highest break is only 22. You still live in Scotland?

Cool yeah from Falkirk in Scotland. Best basic advice i could give would be to focus on keeping your head completely still on every shot. Also you want to make sure you're cueing straight. Just have the white ball on the table, place it on the brown spot and try to hit it directly over the blue, pink and black spots and see if it comes back up the table over those same spots. If it doesn't you're probably putting some unintentional side on the white which, in a frame, would throw the object ball off line when you try to pot it.

Paddy Power are the best overall bookie imo, in every department, but they will limit players if they win a lot eventually, understandably.

I would agree with that. My friend had won alot quickly and his stake sizes were increasing rapidly so they prob knew they would get their money back eventually. Could see them banning long term winners though for sure.

They wont ban. More like you will only be able to get a smaller amount on if you have a consistant history of picking winners long term.

Also any bookie is just gonna lol at someone who opens a brand new account and wants to put £10k on some random italian soccer match (or the equivalent). You know what I mean!

Yeah for sure. Masters starts on 15th Jan first though! Maybe we should have an ipoker regs/degen punters sub-thread lol. Haven't looked at the entire draw yet but judd trump to take out Stuart Bingham at 4/6 in the first round looks like a great price. The best value to be made is betting in play to be honest. You wouldn't believe the amount of times a guy is 3 up with 4 to play and it goes to a final frame decider. Bookies give you great odds in those situations imo.

What sports do you bet on Jez?

Re: *****OFFICIAL 2012 IPOKER REGS THREAD ******

Bookies screening bets is utterly pathetic, I got screened for a while for boxing bets and it was infuriating, bookies must surely have to ask themselves how confident they are in their oddsmaking if they have to do this bullsh*t. Kudos to bookies like Pinnacle and Boyle (and paddy it sounds like, although I'm sure they've limited me before) for having some f*kin balls (or I should just say, doing what they're supposed to do) and giving punters a bit of freedom.

Consistent winners who want to dump a lot on should probably use Betfair, no?
