Here's hoping you all get your money back from the thieving bastards.

Am I the only one slightly disappointed with the lack of tits on this first page?

Happy newyear all!
Officially drank myself sick over the break, but about a day away from coming back to crush.

Booking a spring break trip to mexico in Feb - anyone suggest some good all inclusives under 1500/7day?

Low stakes NL Omaha is sooooo juicy!
01-04-2012 , 08:47 PM
Omaha wat? NLO-high I assume, if so yeah that's true. I dabbled a bit in that a while back and it was superjuicy (as was O8)
01-04-2012 , 09:07 PM
NLO? where is the edge over the fish when everythangs a flip
01-04-2012 , 09:40 PM
make a hand
shovel

no edge in poker. Every hand's a 50-50

nope. I only was there on lock for a month to clear the ipad2 promo . Such a sick value @ 112% rb for a month

Is there a curve imposter just like the clowntable from ftp?

Also I have a question on a 400NL hand that just happened. Have been bumhunting @ 400NL and try not to tangle with regulars. I was playing 3 handed with a huge whale and a regular who I don't perceive as good, but definately more experienced at these levels than me. It's not that I'm playing scared money or anything, but I'm not too fond to throw it just in with a marginal holding and definately looking to play the fish instead of regular.

My PT3 had it as an error (uncapped rake so this goes of the back of the mind).

2/4 euro
BTN (me): 400 euro
SB (reg): 450
BB (fish): 400

I open 3bb A8o and SB calls, BB fold.

Flop: 6s 8h Th (pot 24 euro)

Sb donks 17 euro I call.

Turn: 6s 8h Th Ac

Sb checks, hero???? I thought that if he had a set or something he wouldn't check, but continue betting, because I'd often check a fd behind (as I'm new @ 400NL and he knows that). So I contemplated betting to protect myself vs marignal holdings and I believe he can call with worse than me and he can hold the FD himself.

If we bet and he calls and river is a heart what we do on a donkbet?
If we bet and he raises the turn?

some random from Belgium who keeps sitting my 6m tables but leaves after it gets like 4h, has autoreload on

fcbt is relevant, WWSF, WTSD, but if PT3 f's up all the uncapped raked hands your samplesize is going to be skewed and incorrect

turns a pretty clear bet though, he can c/c any pair+OESD/gutshot/2p/6xhh/Ax/Axhh that he decided to lead flop with

I take it you don't hold Ah?

and if he leads heart rivers I probably just shrug call and take the note, it's a weird line
01-05-2012 , 06:48 AM
**** yeah. No I don't have any data on him that's relevant. He plays mostly 400NL and see him sometimes at the 200NL, but I haven't been playing a lot (8k hands last 2 months haha with a hourly of 160 euro ).

I did have the Ah and I did bet and he raised. I called. River 5h and he shoved.

Now by writing this I do recall that I played a hand vs him once at 200NL where he took the same line with a set vs my AK on Kxx in a 3bet pot.

note sizing and river is probably an okay fold

it's pretty easy for you to have a flush there (unless you raise all your NFD/goodfds/p+fd on the flop)

Turn was like around 55 pot and made it like 36 and he raiset it to ~95. I called and folded on the rivershove after contemplating, but he just doesn't seem like one of those good regulars that exploits people that much. More a standard tag regular and he wasn't looking for action vs me either on that table. Often folding on my 2.5bb SB bet so.

on another note, i posted this in the other thread, but my brother and his teammate are 6-1 in the world series of beer pong, right in the running. I have half the action, first is 50k.

they are team "bink, bink, game". www.bpong.com lets you sweat the action....they also have their team shirts say "we bink, you drink." on the back. hahaha so sick
thanks. my interest in this sort of thing is basically just an effort to solve my massive tilt problems (in poker and in life) but it's still interesting on its own. eastern philosophy is like thousands of years ahead of western psychology.

world series of beer pong. damn, i wish i had thought of that lol. gl, would be a really cool way to make 25k.

lets see some more book recs. everyone post something that they enjoyed reading in 2011 - on any topic whatsoever

Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman looks really good and has received great reviews. It's the next book I will read. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0374275637

I'm reading Currency Wars by Jim Rickards, which is great if you like economics/investing books. It's pretty interesting with a very well informed historical perspective. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1591844495

nah was around june '11 at the start of lockpoker. Basically you had to rake 1k dollar and you'd get 300 dollar rb, ipad2 (at the moment roughly 700 dollar here in EU) and bonus from rakerace (had around 115 dollar from that) for 1k rake.

Ended with only 300 dollar profit or something with 15bi below EV, but with the 1200 dollar rb equivalent it was ok

I did not realize 100k/year is a lot of money. Sorry if this offends you.

Gotta love it when they take the fancy pancy line in a spot where bet-bet-bet makes way more money against all the holdings that call the turn c/r

"The 48 laws of power"

http://www.amazon.ca/48-Laws-Power-R.../dp/0140280197

One of the better books I read last year.
The cliffs is here if you are only interested in the laws, but I really enjoyed the stories/anecdotes following them. Definitely a good read if you are a business-type or want to be more assertive/confident.
