Playing $1-2 at Texas Cardhouse North (just opened).

Effective stacks $400.

10 handed. Table is typical 1-2 with a lot of loose-passive play preflop.

Hero has 73

UTG folds, EP1 raises to $10. EP2 calls $10, MP1 calls $10, MP2 calls $10, HJ calls $10, Hero(CO) calls $10. BUT calls $10. SB folds, BB calls$ 10.

Pot is $71.

Flop is Q83

EP1, EP2, MP, MP2, HJ checks to Hero(CO), Hero bets $40.[/B] BUT calls 40. EP1, EP2, MP, MP2 folds. HJ check-raises to $140.

Reads: HJ: Tight player. Not likely getting out of line. Read: AQ/KQ. Stronger hands slow-play, better draws flat. BUT: also a tight player.

Hero(CO) raises to $350 all-in.

What are your thoughts here?

Live poker in America actually sounds like a goldmine from some of these posts. Shame about the president though.

Fold pre obviously. Probably not betting flop seeing as super unlikely to get it through anyone, check raising potentially a better option or just realising equity for free. As played just get it in, probably not in great shape vs his overall range but there's too much in the middle now.

Fold pre-flop.

As played, I'd just call the $140. I doubt you get many folds from your shove.

unless you have some insane player-specific read, your read that he slowplays sets/2pr is 100% wrong. if anything, those hands are quite a bit more likely to play like this than AQ/KQ (both postflop and because 88/33 never 3bet pre but AQ/KQ should some %). i mean KQ never ****ing plays like this ever. 7 way!!!!! jesus that would be so bad.

i'm really not sure what to expect from him as his line just seems so odd. from how you framed the hand there's almost no way he had a set because you would not post the read that he only has AQ/KQ if he showed up with a set. i mean, hopefully that hindsight bias isn't affecting my read of the situation, but a set does seem somewhat unlikely to check with 4 players having acted and only 2 left to act on a relatively drawy board - barring exploitive reads, of course. i also think live players on the button would raise a set pretty often on the flop, so you don't have to worry too much about him. all, in all, the action is strange enough and your draw is strong enough that i would just jam and hope for the best.

If he shoves the turn, I think we'd be getting about 2.5 to 1, so we need somewhere around 29% equity to call. Might be close. I'm not at home right now to play around with an equity calculator.

Preflop is a fold.
As played :
Betting on the flop is ok and of course there is no call when he raises. All in or fold and mostly all in!
