Felt fishy afterwards but checking flop seems so weak. It feels like he's floating but turn is an awful card. I don't think I can call river. thoughts?

Not sure what your flop bet accomplishes, id probably bet really small or really big. As played probably decent fold on river as hes probably never valuebetting with worse.

Checking flop is cool i think. We can have some weaker Ax in our 3b range which we can play this way.

Otherwise vs an unknown think folding river is good as played.

Check flop or bet 1/3-40% pot

Pre I personally make it 1bb bigger. Not sure but from my experience it does help with FE even though there isnt a big difference between 9x and 10x BB. You could make it even 11 or 12bb. Also when you are bluffing with 98s or have unsuited broadways like KQo/KJo/AJo, you'd rather just take it down pre

Ok, but are you checking with the intention of calling and then check calling a blank turn and river? This villain had a pretty high bet vs skip c bet and my thinking was, if I'm going to check this flop I'll have to call a bet anyway so may as well try and take him off it. Say you check call flop what's your plan for a dry run out facing two more barrels?

c/c flop and turn if dry, c/f river. c/c all streets with Axs though
