NFD all in semi bluff line 200NL

14/8.9/af2.27/3bet3.3 695 hands

23/17/af2.3/3bet6.8 BB 3bet 14 vs Steal 1k hands

He is a pretty good thinking regular. He sees me as nitty ABC player.

I go for CR on flop and just shove turn hoping he folds.

I'm representing a set or OP.

$1/$2 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

CO: $317.60 (158.8 bb)
BTN: $680.14 (340.1 bb)
Hero (SB): $200 (100 bb)
BB: $191.30 (95.7 bb)
MP: $434.60 (217.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9 A
3 folds, Hero raises to $4, BB raises to $16, Hero calls $12

Flop: ($32) T 6 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $20, Hero raises to $46, BB calls $26

Turn: ($124) Q (2 players)
Hero bets $138 and is all-in

why are you flatting a 4x 3bet OOP vs a good thinking reg? fold pre.

pre call is unprofitable. on flop raise to 52-56 so you do not have to overbetshove the turn and to have more FE on the flop.

Because he was 3betting me so much. This is my way of fighting back instead of 4betting preflop.

Bad idea?

I should not seem capable of making this bluff thus I thought it would work.

Also win more when he folds the turn

Just for $10 more dollars......greedy.... but if you wanna be that precise then I guess that makes sense.

I think I do like him calling the CR on flop and making him fold on turn better since I make more money that way than making him fold on flop.

So how many of you guys actually think that this bluff worked?

Re: NFD all in semi bluff line 200NL

He almost folded on flop which encouraged me to snap open shove the turn and he folded immediately. So it worked out well.

$1/$2 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

CO: $317.60 (158.8 bb)
BTN: $680.14 (340.1 bb)
Hero (SB): $200 (100 bb)
BB: $191.30 (95.7 bb)
MP: $434.60 (217.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9 A
3 folds, Hero raises to $4, BB raises to $16, Hero calls $12

Flop: ($32) T 6 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $20, Hero raises to $46, BB calls $26

Turn: ($124) Q (2 players)
Hero bets $138 and is all-in, BB folds

Results: $124 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: T 6 5 Q
Hero mucked 9 A and won $121 ($59 net)
BB mucked and lost (-$62 net)

This is the hand where I got the idea to try this semi bluff and it happened about 3 orbits before my attempt with my NFD on another table at the same site against another regular.

The villain here got very unlucky with me hitting the nuts on turn but I actually took my time calling his shove putting him on a very strong hand and in retrospect I respect his line and I thought it was very convincing. His shove should fold out everything but the nutted range.

So I made my NFD bluff in a same fashion as this villain did to me which was to take his time and CR the flop and he snap open shove the turn.

$1/$2 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

MP: $334.35 (167.2 bb)
CO: $222.70 (111.4 bb)
Hero (BTN): $203.80 (101.9 bb)
SB: $430.65 (215.3 bb)
BB: $483.50 (241.8 bb)
UTG: $232.66 (116.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q A
UTG folds, MP raises to $6, CO folds, Hero raises to $14, 2 folds, MP calls $8

Flop: ($31) T 8 J (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $15.50, MP raises to $58.12, Hero calls $42.62

Turn: ($147.24) K (2 players)
MP bets $147.24, Hero calls $131.68 and is all-in

River: ($410.60) 3 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: $410.60 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: T 8 J K 3
MP showed A 9 and lost (-$203.80 net)
Hero mucked Q A and won $407.60 ($203.80 net)

I do notice his flop CR size is bigger than mine as suggested by players in this thread which makes me think he bluffs or semi bluffs more often and does it better than me for sure. His CR is high and he obviously follows through on the next street.

I have to admit my NFD semi bluff has way less outs than his.......

Re: NFD all in semi bluff line 200NL

Bvb I like your flatting of the 3b way more than his in your other example. I don't think you have to 4b or fold here, his sizing sucks for us, but there's always a dynamic at play in 3bt wars, especially bvb.

His sizing was bigger cause his flop was dirtier, I like your sizing a lot. On this type of board vs the hands that will call a x/r, I think it's strategically better to give us a good price on a bluff, then more FE later if we choose to shove.

Edit: also consider that you both flopped as well as you could. With less equity domination you need to be able to play more correctly post flop.

o I didnt see it was BvB but yeah I was stating something....Saying your calling the 3 bet to fight back seems pretty weak to me. Yeah you get lucky on this type of board but what if the flop comes K72 rainbow then we are getting outplayed all day.

Re: NFD all in semi bluff line 200NL

when the villain does it, his range is much stronger then what you rep on T65s. You might not even have 65,66,55 in your range. He can have any set any twopair and some straights aswell as combo draws and OESD+2overs.

So unless you are raising like AT type hands on that flop......

Your playing 14/9?

Calling OOP w a9s in a blind dynamic is burning money vs anyone who is remotely competent.
