i like fighting games, and often watch the competitive fighting games online

but one thing bugs me, it's way too easy to just juggle guys and rack up 80x hit combos and blast through the match just because you got the first hit. It makes the games so scrubby, like, where's the skill in that? That's the one thing i dont get as an outside observer of fighting games. it's too easy to steam roll guys if you guess right and open correctly. Is my thinking right or do i not understand the game well enough?

Thats true for Marvel vs Capcom games, and maybe even Guilty Gear games, but have you even played SF4?
It's more like a chess-match, most of the combos are like 4-5 hits, and they don't do that much damage. More importantly is the wake-up options and spacing for each character. Take a look at Umehara, the best ryu, vs philipino champ, the best dhalism

BR was good and obv much better than HG, but I feel like it still didn't live up to it's potential. I'd love to see a movie with that plot executed much better.

I feel like I remember both of you guys living in San Francisco, is that true / still the case? I'll be out there for a month doing a rotation at UCSF during late Oct/Early Nov and would love to meet up with some 2p2'ers while there if possible.

The ending of BR wasn't very good. The rest was excellent though. It must be hard to have so many different characters and retain a fast paced film.

That's probably something that that Hunger Games does better, at least in the books. It's more about the politics of why the arena exists and what happens.
