He told me no, but is he just being overly cautious?

FWIW I only take it on days I play (~twice/week), would ideally do a standard dosage earlier in the day and the stronger one after dinner before the game
I have, on multiple occasions with an injury, been told by a doctor to take 800mg 3x daily until the inflammation improves.

This is fine in the short term, but you shouldn't take this high a dose for more than a week otherwise you risk creating a stomach ulcer or even kidney failure in extreme cases.

I found infinite jest to be just so much literary masturbation. I imagine that if you're into literature and prose it's great, but I want to be entertained and to be made to think. I don't have many books that I can't imagine finishing but that's top of the pile. So to speak.

I couldn't stop laughing when I first saw this, but my friend that watches hockey told me the pic is photoshopped. Still funny though.

Ya I am reading it solely because it's suppose to be so great. Very frustrating so far with the giant footnotes and tangents.

What do the girls mean by hooking?
04-10-2012 , 01:58 PM
heh, hooking = being a hooker/prostitute. In hockey it means pulling a player back with your stick or something.
04-10-2012 , 02:17 PM
I understood the hockey reference but thought hooking was short for hooking up. Didn't get it.

The photoshop version is definitely better.

Watching this Party Big Game thing and so many of these people are just fundamentally awful at poker, including the young donkament or online pros. MBN to run hot enough to be able to be on this show despite sucking ass.
04-12-2012 , 01:03 AM
that's pretty much all of live poker man. All the FTP pros are idiots who just happened to run hot during the beginning of the poker boom. Am I really supposed to believe that Howard Lederer is a great poker player, lol gmafb.

A few of the online guys purposely play way too loose/extravagant because that's what gets them on TV shows (and therefore invited to play after). Some of them just suck of course.

I've not enjoyed Anathem or Reamde quite as much as his previous books though.
I liked snow crash more than Diamond Age.

Though it would've been a better book if he takes out all the techno-philosophy garbage out of it

Doctors:

strained/pulled my calf muscle playing basketball (I forget the terminology of strained vs. pulled, but it's whichever is milder). Initially felt like a cramp, but when it didn't go away I realized I did something.

Anyway, the question:

Treatment: Hot or cold?
04-12-2012 , 03:21 PM
hot ice imo
