I have jumpers knee or whatever it is called in both knees (basically inflamed tendons??), and i still play basketball, but just make sure I take ibuprofen whenever I play.

My friend who is a doctor said I couldnt take more than the recommended dose (400mg i think, or whatever 2 normal pills is), I argued that A) surely those kind of recommendations are overly cautious (ie 3 pills would be fine) and B) I'm literally twice the size of some people who would be taking those doses (6'4 225). He told me no, but is he just being overly cautious?

FWIW I only take it on days I play (~twice/week), would ideally do a standard dosage earlier in the day and the stronger one after dinner before the game

I have, on multiple occasions with an injury, been told by a doctor to take 800mg 3x daily until the inflammation improves.

This is fine in the short term, but you shouldn't take this high a dose for more than a week otherwise you risk creating a stomach ulcer or even kidney failure in extreme cases.

I found infinite jest to be just so much literary masturbation. I imagine that if you're into literature and prose it's great, but I want to be entertained and to be made to think. I don't have many books that I can't imagine finishing but that's top of the pile. So to speak.

heh, hooking = being a hooker/prostitute. In hockey it means pulling a player back with your stick or something.

I understood the hockey reference but thought hooking was short for hooking up. Didn't get it.

Watching this Party Big Game thing and so many of these people are just fundamentally awful at poker, including the young donkament or online pros. MBN to run hot enough to be able to be on this show despite sucking ass.

A few of the online guys purposely play way too loose/extravagant because that's what gets them on TV shows (and therefore invited to play after). Some of them just suck of course.

strained/pulled my calf muscle playing basketball (I forget the terminology of strained vs. pulled, but it's whichever is milder). Initially felt like a cramp, but when it didn't go away I realized I did something.

Anyway, the question:
