Do I win chief geek award?
200 hours isn't much for Civ 2 - I just got Europa Universalis III 4-5 months ago and I've already put 150 hours into it according to Steam (maybe you're underestimating?). No clue what a # of hours would be for Civilization 1/2/4 for me since it was years ago I was playing those games, but I have to imagine it's wayyyyy up there since I was playing those for years.

I played Quake 2 a ton on the internets as a kid, so many fun mods for that game (CTF, Rocket Arena 2, Weapons Factory).

I have 1152 hours in CoD4 for PC, but that's definitely not even close to the most hours I've put into a video game.

I played Ultima Online for nearly 10 years.

I just don't like single player games that much. As soon as I got a modem I was 95% online. I have Civ 5 at 300 hours on Steam but 250 of those, at least, were online.

I had a ton of hours in WoW, although many of those were alt-tabbed so it is skewed. Played HoN and D2 quite a lot as well, and will play D3 until my mouse breaks from all the clicking.

We have a trainee position open in our company. Posted it in some schools today. Just got one request for a 3rd year internship position by a Chinese student. Our requirements are fluent English and German, French and Dutch are a big plus. She writes crappy English and doesn't know any of the other languages. There are spelling and grammar errors in her CV (giant ones) and her motivation letter is as general as it gets.

What the **** does she expect. Spamming as many companies as possible is not the way to an internship. Now that I am on the employer side I understand a motivation letter so much better than when I was a student. You need to specify why you want to work for my company specifically.

I think this hiring process is going to tilt me several times. There are so many completely ******ed students that I will need to filter through to get a good one.

when your resume/abilities are terrible, you have no other choice though. she'll eventually find an employer that's desperate enough

i'm on pace to beat sciolist's sc1 2500 hours in 2 years with my sc2 play right now...but i'm slowing down alot lately.

Oh but a serious question:

CO is a weird dude who plays too many hands pre and sticks around too much post.

I got TT in the button. Stacks everywhere are deeeeep. I got about 4k, most people have 2-3k. 3k deep guy opens to 50 in the CO, deep button calls, I call, limper calls.

I've already squeezed 3 times and took it down at this table, multiple people have been calling me internet punk. Didn't want to play a big pot yet.

Flop: 545 (200)

CO makes it 140, fold, I call, fold.

Standard

Turn T (480)

Check, check

BINK! Oh damn.

River 2 (480)

I bet 280, raise to 800, I shove.

I didn't get greedy on the river right? His range looks like basically air/boats to me. I don't think his calling range changes if I put out 1.5k.

In Oss, between Den Bosch and Nijmegen. PM me a copy of your CV and I can take a look. For this position we need someone fast, but we will have more positions open up.

We do have females in our customer base though, I hope you won't call them whores on the phone. ^^

Heh, welcome to 21st century job hunting. Though I put my 2 + 2 nickname on my CV so am probably more aware of this than most (gotta show interest in poker after all). Infact when I first interviewed at PS in 2004 they said they'd read my chat logs on the table before the interview.

I think the asshat teacher mailed our job ad to all the second year students. I can't really blame them for the mistake then. Still, it is ******ed to apply for a position if you don't know any German and it specifically states your German speaking has to be good.

More rage will come. You guys have any clue how to reach graduates (Europe). I don't wanna go through agencies since that costs 5-10k. We will advertise on LinkedIn, but I have no clue how to reach graduates. I didn't do any job hunting myself and my good friends all received offers/do a Phd so they suck at helping me as well.

HOW CAN YOU PUT IN REFERENCES: AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. YOU WANT A JOB YOU SEND ME INFORMATION.

GOD.

More applications. Noone read the entire job offer.

I assume I'm on one of those mailing lists from my university, because I always gets invites for HP, Fortis etc. for trainingdays and internships. Any chance you can ask the uni's to put an ad for your company in there Randiek? I'll have to update my CV then Randiek, but would be interested to see what you wouldn't like about me etc. just for further reference but my german isn't that good I did work 2.5 years as a jobstudent at the airport as a personal assistant so I'm pretty strong in communication and likeability unlike you guys might think!
