Looks like we need a fresh injection of duck pictures, cat pictures, and pictures of Evie. Otherwise, the life thread as we know it may fade in bolivion.

@Sciolist Yeah this isn't the best place for it either and as much as you guys can hate on it there are quite the bunch of women out there that are 100% golddiggers.
lol?

a) call all women whores

b) ???

c) get upset when someone makes an obvious joke calling your girlfriend a whore

You obviously did not get the irony.

And yes, I would so ****ing tell you to your face that you probably don't understand irony.

why can't we be friends?

anyone in shanghai at the moment?

Not anymore. Stupandaus what was your work area again? I will probably need a business network in China in a year or two, and so far I know mostly sales/purchasers/accountants.

WP stark with that pic, one of the few times these put a serious smile on my face. Poor orange. Comes in to make peace, get flamed instead. <3

i'm an engineer, currently doing some joint venture negotiations over here. planning on applying for an mba this fall and starting fall 2013, but will be in shanghai about 1-2 weeks a month for the foreseeable future

Why do you need an MBA as an engineer? Also, how can you get into an MBA program if you don't have a business bachelor or master?

I am in transport, where you encounter more or less everything but engineer. Well, software engineers ofc.

you only need a bachelor degree in anything to apply for MBA.

Pretty standard, you can get a master degree in just about anything without having bachelor in that specific field.

An MBA is a pretty good idea for anyone that wants to advance to upper management/ownership levels.

The education is good but the relationships and connections you make in school are worth even more.

It's nice to know that in pretty much any major city in the US, I could reach out to my alumni network and probably get a foot in the door to whatever space I am looking into.

In here you can't get a master in anything without a related bachelor. How can someone be a master of marketing when he previously did biochem or vice versa. Does not make sense to me.

Yeah bilbo I am aware of that, I will probably go and get one myself in a couple of years. Need to get connected to other people that matter, currently I barely have anyone worth noting in my network apart from my transport connections. might be useful to meet some people from other fields when I get bored with my company.

you usually have to take certain prerequisites to apply and you will likely go to school longer if it wasn't your bachelor degree. I looked into master accounting. it's 1yr program for accounting bachelor students. It would take me 2 or 2.5 yrs. You can't just get a master at the same rate as somebody who did a bachelor in the same area
01-12-2012 , 03:25 PM
i'm planning on transitioning out of engineering hopefully to venture capital

business major is not necessary for MBA. experience is relevant to whether or not you can get in. generally people applying will have relevant management/business/sales/finance experience in their field

It's worth noting that the newest one was made by some rando Hungarian developer and not the guys that made the first 4 games (the 5th was made by a rando Russian developer). It's always a little worrisome when the talent that makes a series what it is stops working on it and development is outsourced, imo (see: Disciples III).
01-12-2012 , 03:42 PM
And also, if you don't mind playing games w/ outdated graphics, I'd really recommend Disciples 2. It's very similar to HoMM and a lot of fun. You can get the complete edition for $10 at gog.com, which is an awesome site that has tons of old games available for download (no DRM involved) for $10 or less. They have sales all the time too.
01-12-2012 , 04:26 PM
i have no problem playing games with outdated graphics, but i prob wont be getting any new games anyway since i really need to grind a lot more than last year

None of this is true for any MBA I've seen in the states. I had a psych B.A. and I was accepted to plenty of schools. I got letters of acceptance from schools like Duke that I had not even applied to, based on my GMAT I presume.

Oh ****, goofy, that site has just officially ****ed my productivity for the next couple of weeks

I was extremely bored from the get-go with the one before this one. Is this better?
