Well, it varies by situation, but if your first instinct is that you're doing something wrong, you're probably doing something wrong. You'd have to give some more information.

I met my wife when we were both dating other people, and we didn't stop because we weren't broken up yet. It never felt wrong though.

Chance of rain Saturday = 60%
Chance of rain Sunday = 30%

What's the chance of rain on ONE of the two days? I obv know how to calculate it if it's the chance of rain combined, but not sure about the question as asked.

Ex) Saturday=60% chance, Sunday=30% chance

4 possible outcomes

1) Rain both days (0.6 x 0.3)=18%

2) No rain either day (0.4 x 0.7)=28%

3) Rain Sat/no Sun (0.6 x 0.7)=42%

4) No Sat/Rain Sun (0.4 x 0.3)=12%

Answer (Outcomes 3 & 4) 42+12=54% chance IMO

a little, but according to the 2p2 thread that ran about it, the bet was over after 30 minutes. not sure i could polish off a bottle of jack in half an hour without spewing (unless i had lots of mixer to go with it)

That type of analysis only works if event A and event B are independent of one another. However, in weather, event A directly affects event B.
