Re: How to improve your blinds game?

Based on your sample size, winrate and assuming your standard deviation is similar to mine at around 10bb/hand, the 95% confidence interval for your winrate is between 8bb/100 and -5bb/100.

Stupid way to earn a living eh?

Re: How to improve your blinds game?

It used be a lot bigger. But lately, I got coolered so much that even ev dropped. 2 weeks ago, it was more like 6bb/100 but it doesn't matter what it used to be.

Would appreciate if someone could link me articles and what to improve about my game, what to study, to bluff better and to improve that red line.

Re: How to improve your blinds game?

a) Pay extreme attention when it's folded to you in the SB (not just BBs PF fold but also postflop reads/stats and so forth)
b) Pay extreme attention to BTN/CO steal situation and good 3bet bluff spots (once again including postflop info) AND value 3bet spots
c) Improve BvB play as BB a ton. There's really no reason why you shouldn't crush anyone that opens widish from the SB vs you
d) Have a very good and player specifc idea of what you want to do if you flat BBvBTN. Work on a donking strategy.
d2) Generally develop an understanding on how strongish range plays vs weakish range if weakish range has the lead and position.
e) It's really not bad to fold a ton if you don't have good info. You never really "have to play" from the blinds. If people exploit you you'll make bundes from them once you actually have decent reads (but good general readless assumptions are also very valuable...you'll automatically improve your base assumptions by paying more attention btw)
f) Don't autopilot, have strategies/think about spots like these
- limp, limp, limp...do I complete SB/check BB, with what range...how do I play postflop on what textures?
- limp,limp..regish SB limps...what's his range
- limp/limp..regish SB raises...what's his range, what happens if I flat what if I 3bet
g) Donk limps/minraises BvB how do I react with what hands and why?

Basically play more HU, that'll help a lot.

Just like anything in poker really...get obsessed with the topic. Think of every way to squeeze out value and be extremly mindfull whenever your improvement-topic comes up in game. Want to get better at blind play and just autofolded SB...mindfullness dictates that you realize this shortly after you did it and mentally tell yourself to pay more attention next time.

BUT...working on other parts of your game will yield an even bigger profit. If you don't think you have absolutely mastered BTN and CO play...work on that and stick to some simple ABC tightish blind play.

3-bet more, look for good spots to 3bet bluff, playing 3 bets pots in position, bluffing in 3bet pots?
Stealing etc.?

Re: How to improve your blinds game?

What are the optimal VPIPs for the blinds? Or how should be the percentage fold to steal from blinds?
