Not that has to do with playing to get in a good position to do well in and possibly win the tournament. I guess you can argue that you don't want to risk your stack now no matter what, as you want to ensure some more time at the table with your hobby, but in that case you shouldn't 3-bet and build a pot pre-flop either. If your objective is to not get knocked out no matter what, then you should call the pre-flop raise, check back flop, then possibly try to get some small value if he also checks turn. Playing for pure survival is however a real bad strategy in almost all stages of any tournament.
