Your flop cbet seems too big to me for this texture, but I suppose that depends on your MP opening range and his sb calling range.

You have more than enough equity to call the bet on the flop with the range I gave him in my equity calc but that's assuming you get to see the river for free, but I still think you can call here. I don't think raising is an option because you really won't like what you get it in against and you're never folding better here.

yeah, call is the best here

bet $1 on flop, wtf is the point of betting so much but increasing your variance and lowering ur winrate, def call and fold unlkess ur hand improves.

Against this particular opponent I don´t mind the cbet, he might x/c with all 8x, 7x and so on and most of the time you will be able to chb turn and see all cards. Getting x/r sucks though, sure you´re ahead of some FD+gutshot combos but the majority of his range has you fairly crushed (2pairs, sets, straights). I assume that perceived cbetting ranges are rather tight on textures like this, so x/r ranges have to be reasonably strong. Call me a nit but I´m happy to take my EV by making him fold all of his AX and small PPs in this spot facing my cbet + sometimes realize my equity vs his x/c range

C-betting is fine the size is what I think poses a problem.

bettinq big here vs a fish neither increases the variance nor lowers the winrate.

K, just fold out 90% of villains range that he calls on flop and folds to turn bets. Find yourself with very marginal hands on board like this. turn comes a king or a jack, we have to call the turn bet which is likely going to be a good percentage of op's stack and is likely only drawing to 20% equity. Most of the time there is no reason to bet this big with our hand on the flop since if we are going to gii with the fish it won't matter if the pot size is $10 or $25 cause a fish is never folding a straight here, even if the board pairs and a third spade comes, they just cant.
