How often do you guys call river raises vs recs, and how often are you right in those cases?
Would this be a good spot to call it off?
BTN was a huge degen, so I made a loose peel preflop.
It was first hand vs MP, but I'm sure he's a rec (stack size etc.)

2 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players

UTG: 48.08 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, BTN calls 3 BB, fold, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (9.5 BB, 3 players) K

Hero checks, UTG bets 5 BB, fold, Hero calls 5 BB

Turn: (19.5 BB, 2 players) 4

Hero checks, UTG checks

River: (19.5 BB, 2 players) 3

Hero bets 13.65 BB, UTG raises to 40.08 BB, Hero ???

Eh - he's not getting cute with AK and sure sometimes he'll have a spazz bluff but I think it's much more likely he binked some BS

Doubt he's bluffing enough when you put in a healthy size bet. If you bet like 1/3 pot or something there's a lot bigger chance he'll spaz.

Tbh calling here isnt too bad vs these players. You will do pretty well at this level because of so much spaz.

Even if you are losing in the long run in this spot it is much better than folding.

Id call 100% unless I see that he his actually quite nitty

I think this is a clear fold unless you know UTG is nuts. He is betting into 3 ppl including the BTN which is described as a huge degen. He almost always has something here. I doubt he's checking back a J on the turn and turning it into a bluff when the flush gets there. If he thinks you're bluffing somehow with your river bet he will just call with his Kx that decided to check back.
