Villain is very tight. 13/7/0 over 100 hands. Thisis the only hand he's opened from MP. No history though. I wasnt sure whether to fold the river or not. I lose to AK/AJ/AT/KQ/AA/JJ/TT. Not really much I'm beating from someone that tight?

when villain is a tight player, that's definitely the range you're up against, and AT is all that you're beating. no big draws that he could 3x barrel, so i'm not calling in this spot

What about jamming? Does villain b/f enough 2 pairs here? We block KQ and AA....

This came to my mind.... also, we prob have one of the worst hands we can have in this spot. However, if he's that nitty it's a good chance he isn't really thin value betting much and has a range which only has 1 combo of AJ, 2 combos of AT, 1 combo of AA and 3 combos of JJ. In other words he has more combos of sets than 2 pair (due to him not opening AJo and ATo from MP) so it doesn't even matter if he's folding the 2 pair and not the sets.

This is assuming he isn't opening AJo from MP (which given stats looks likely) - if he opens AJo and is likely to fold it to a shove, then maybe you can bluff shove but overall it just looks like a bad spot to try and get someone to fold a hand within a strong range!

Folding river against the Nit and feeling good about it.

@ chk-shoving river: this seems suicidal to me. I don`t think we should have a raising range on that river at all. We can`t have the Nuts and villain plays every single combo of KQ and all Sets this way.

What is villain's c-betting tendencies? I know small sample but it seems really hard for me to believe that this type of villain gets to river with ATs and TT played like this, same goes for KQ. I put them on AA, AJ, JJ, maybe 44 when they triple this runout, I think AK either checks back or bets smaller otr.

Thanks guys. I felt at the time I should fold but I called and he showed JJ for the set. Was a pretty stupid call I think. 20BBs down. I don't mind my flop/turn calls but river should be a fold.

Just thinking now against someone that tight how I would have played if the river was a queen or another ace......? With the same opening range it's probably still a fold!

Q river changes everything, we are now ahead of AJ/AK but instead of a clear fold, I think it's pretty close. I stated before I don't think villain bets that large otr w/ AK, but now we beat all of villain's AJ combos, and their AQ can now take that line with the same bet sizes and we chop with those.

AT beats us on the river now.
