You are overthinking this. There is little to no value on the river to be had here unless you have a really good read on the villain.

SB cold called the 8BB pre, presenting the tightest range, right? I cant see betting for value when villian is representing a better Ace, which likely crushes hero range. Cant always hope the villian has big pocket pair that was unlucky. What value is a bet on this river? I am still learning, so my "?" are honest, not sarcastic.

I really dislike the flop check. I can see worse hands calling and better ones folding. If you then get a call, you can narrow down the range even better and that way you don't give free cards to MPs larger calling range.

vs recreational I think u have a little value bet on the river, once you have a paired board they are not going to fold a 2nd pair.
