Flop(JT3
Sb check
Hero cbet 1/3

Turn 7
Sb donks 1/2 pot

Your cbet on flop is too small. You have just 4 bet and now you decide to slow down with the best overpair? Your 1/3 cbet informs V you may have a draw so his donk bet on turn makes sense with a made hand. If he has any backdoor draw he will make this flop call even oop. If you raise his donk bet, V has to then respect it w/o the nuts himself. His donk bet could be a combo draw but shoving missed draws on a paired river card is a crazy move so you have to know if he is capable of doing that, most people are not. 89 doesn't seem likely calling a 4 bet oop. A3ss seems the most likely but Jj, tt, 33, are possibilities. Vs river bet seems like a value bet bc he knows you 4 bet pre so you have a strong enough hand to call his shove with over pairs. AP fold river.

Never folding this on the river. If you were UTG, it might be different given that your range is so much smaller. But button vs. SB ranges tend to be much wider.

AA is going to be near the top of your range. Only JJ and TT are stronger. I expect to see some JJ/TT from villain here and possibly 89s. But I'd also expect to see JTs, KK/QQ, Jx, or a busted draw here like KQ or something like AKhh-AJhh that turned a flush draw.

You could make an argument for betting larger - like 50-60% pot on the flop and just jamming turn. But as played, easy call IMO.

Ugly spot, I think its most likely JJ.

Why did you just call the donk bet on the turn? I mean, with pocket AA I would feel like there is a chance of putting more money into the pot right there. You are crushed by only TT and JJ and ahead of the rest of his range.

Looks good to me. Not keen on jamming turn as you fold out all his bluffs. Let him keep sticking money in the pot with his QQ/KK/Bluffs.

100% agree with this. Raising the turn doesn't accomplish much here. You have position and can make sure the money gets in if he checks river to you. Raising turn let's him fold out his draws and narrows his range.

I think the hand is played fine. If he has JJ/TT, it's a cooler. But you're ahead of enough of his range here.

@sneaky41314 flop cbet size is pretty standard in a 4bet pot. Going bigger is also fine depending on villain's 4b/calling and flop continuing range.

Calling turn donk is fine as you certainly don't want him hero folding QQ or something worse if you shove over the top. River is just kinda whatever. I mean if he's got JJ/TT for a boat then good for him. It's still a call. Nh

hand is wp. i'm assuming you minraised btn, SB 3bet to 8bb, and u 4bet to 20bb? the fact of the matter is besides JJ/TT this is ur best hand and you can't fold to these donking ranges too liberally, gotta call down.
