- I have not 4 bet Villain before, we don't have an aggressive dynamic yet. Was this call a mistake?

- Would a small 4B be a better option here or is this just a flop I usually need to give up on OOP with no diamond?

I feel like a call on flop is spewy and I don't know how I would play any diamond or Broadway turn.

Why are you calling an almost 3x 4-bet OOP with 9 high 107bb deep
03-25-2017 , 07:24 PM
A call on the flop is spewy. Your equity when he 4-bets and bets this flop is not good.

calling the 4bet is a huge leak. calling flop is also out of the question. getting 4bet when you 3bet bluff is tilting but you just have to let it go

Fold to the 4b in the first place, then you can sit back in your chair safe in the knowledge you aren't oop against an aggro opponent with 2nd pair terrible kicker on a monotone board where you have no draw to the flush.

Your 3bet with a hand like this falls along the lines of balance/bluff. I like the 3bet, but calling the 4bet is a huge mistake. You should have folded to the 4bet.

yeah you're ****ed on this monotone board. Pre is totally fine, fold flop

^??
fold to the 4bet pre

I don't like the 3-bet sizing in these min BTN open spots. What's the point of your 3-bet? If you're 3-betting to get FE, that's not happening for 7BBs. If you're 3-betting to get initiative, then even 3-bet smaller. I know you risk more to win less when you 3-bet more in these spots, but that's ok OOP imho. If I'm playing this spot, I'm just calling though because you know someone this aggressive is either A) not going to fold to a 3-bet or B) going to 4-bet. I'd rather keep the pot small pre and play some post flop poker.

As played, yeah, the 4-bet call is spew, and calling that flop is spew.
