100NL: hit top pair in 3bet pot vs rec player :)

$0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 3 Players

BTN: $94.33 (94.3 bb)
Hero (SB): $157.78 (157.8 bb)
BB: $100 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J K
BTN raises to $2, Hero raises to $8, BB folds, BTN calls $6

Flop: ($17) 5 J 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $11, BTN raises to $22, Hero calls $11

Turn: ($61) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $18, Hero calls $18

River: ($97) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $46.33 and is all-in, Hero calls $46.33

Villain was 42/30 over 110 hands, but he is a rec player for sure. He calls 3bets extremely wide, even OOP my note says(plus he raises wide). When he raises the flop, i think wow im doing very well against his range overall, but then i think he must have so much air as well due to his pre-flop range, I will probably make more money by letting him barrel off with air and w/e he is raising for value.
Was this played/thought out correctly with the given reads?

I'd love to know what he had because I'm nearly always folding flop or at least the turn. So do tell? Your thought process makes sense, but regardless, I think you're behind. I mean I guess if you call flop and turn then you should call river, but I wouldn't be happy at all. You know him better than I do though...

I like your line vs this guy, strange sizing from him on the turn though, river tells me he either has air or hit a wacky runner runner six (or more likely repping it), flush is a possibility too, the small bet on the turn could indicate strength?.

Overall this hand for me is all about deciphering the information he is dishing out and act accordingly.

He looks like a weakish made hand on the turn so I'd ship it in rather than let him check back. On the river meh...

I'm guessing villain showed up with exactly AJ or flush, but given your read on this player, I think a river call is mandatory.

MR on flop could be anything. Turn call is super easy. Can't fold to 1/2 pot on blank river with this line vs this player. It would help to know villain's aggression numbers...but given read, I've seen aggrofish show up with all kinds of nonsense in these spots.

Sure, if i remember. Though results aren't particularly helpful usually.

I dont think aggression numbers would be useful over this sample would they?
Aggression freq as follows:
Total: 32%
Flop: 29%
Turn: 44%
River: 18%
WWSF: 50

I think in this spot it can be of use to people especially if fish turned up with worse. Just to see how he played his hand and why.

Its also entertaining
