100NL: Hero has trip aces facing an overshove otr.

Villain is unknown running 32/25 w AFq=58% over ~180 hands. His open from EP is 30% (20). However, this sample is very small to be an indicator of anything.

His line looks like AK, ATs or even maybe AQ or TT. I don't think he plays KK or QQ that way. So, easy fold?

    CO: $270.35 (270.4 bb)
    Hero (BTN): $210.01 (210 bb)
    SB: $183.37 (183.4 bb)
    BB: $100 (100 bb)
    UTG: $102.75 (102.8 bb)
    MP: $113.10 (113.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A J
UTG raises to $3, 2 folds, Hero calls $3, 2 folds

    Flop: ($7.50) 3 2 A (2 players)
UTG bets $5, Hero calls $5

    Turn: ($17.50) A (2 players)
UTG bets $12, Hero calls $12

    River: ($41.50) T (2 players)
UTG bets $82.75 and is all-in, Hero?

What kind of note? That he overshoved river? Don't we need some sort of a SD in order for this info to be of some use?

Make a note of the board texture he did this on.

It's a pretty stupid spot for villain to bluff since your range got quite a lot of Ax-combos and in villains spot I wouldn't rely on my opponents to fold trips!

I fold river and make a note:

Opens UTG - bets A23r A turn and overbet shoves T for 2xpot.

I would alsom give him a note that he might open waaaaaay to light UTG and start 3-betting him a ton until he adjusts.

Fold, he won't have TT but can probably have A2/A3. Both ranges are uncapped and I think this is the sort of board where I wouldn't raise anything before the river anyway so we're not folding the top of our range here or anything.

I think this becomes a tough spot holding something like AK or 54 but I kinda think his shove is boats only so those are folds too I guess. Alternately, it's annoying if he bets like $32 on the river. Without any dynamics or significant history, I think it would be an extremely thin value bet with something like A9s/A8s which have only one combo each anyway so I think it might be a fold even to a bet like that too...

I was thinking about the same thing too. However, I think that some villains would turn hands like JJ-KK into a bluff on this river, enough for us to make a river call slightly +EV. It is definitely a very tough spot without a history though.

And yeah +1 to fold. Way more likely that the thought process is "harhar he can't fold trip aces so ima shove my better than trip aces hand" than "harhar ima make him fold arrrrin"

Thank this bad villain for saving you 35 big blinds, then fold.

So you are calling a big river bet? What do you expect to be ahead of?

Bluffs ldo...which are more likely to bet smallish than overshove imo. Mebbe some Axs combos as well which are more likely to valuebet small than shove.

He's referring to large vbets that are not overbets
