1/2 live best line with top set?

6 handed
Straddle from utg for 7, CO calls, BTN calls
Hero is BB with K K ($350~)
SB folds, and I make it 30 to go
Straddler (450~) calls, CO and BTN both call
BTN is villain and has 700+

Flop (120) K J 9
I lead for 85, only BTN calls.

Turn (290) 3
Hero is 235>$ behind and villain is a cannon that has a wide range(he's also stuck 1000+ for the night)

Which line is better on this turn, shove ? Or check -call? Maybe even check fold?

By shoving the turn, we would only be getting called by flushes. Since villain is a cannon with a wide range, I would x/c here to induce villain into betting weaker pairs and draws.

Re: 1/2 live best line with top set?

Shoving turn is the correct play.

Hero had 350 at the start of the hand and the pot after the flop is around 290. Shoving 235 into the pot means villain needs only about 30% equity to call this bet. It also means that the risk of giving a free card is not worth the slight reward of having him bluff off his chips when he would fold to a shove. Note that if villain has a wide range as stated, there are many draws, two pair hands and naked ace of spade hands that will call here.

There are way too many draws out there to risk giving the the villain a free card on the turn. You should never fold here so pleaseo do not let yourself to get bluffed out on the river. Worst case scenario = we are up against a flush and have decent equity to hit on the river.

I thought the turn was the 3 of spades? Did Villain just have a 6 of spades for the flush draw?

Yeah you have to jam with stacks left behind, unlucky.

I like jamming the turn. Villain can have a lot of pair+draws that he will check back and (as others have said) you don't want to give those hands a free card.
Also the pot is so large at this point that the most important thing is to win the pot rather than trying to milk an extra bet out of villain.
If the turn were a brick I like checking a lot more.
