Hello, here i flop great. I am on the button. Guy bets half pot. i raise to pot. He checkraises full. I decide to call. Think i am behind vs set. Now turn he bets out full gain. Do i need to believe a set and fold. Or go on?
Did i put in too much already to fold. Or can I still fold for 70bbs?

Was my flop call already bad?

omg this is so ******ed. I tilted so much watching that hand.
Such a fun player.
You seriously should consider buying yourself a pair of balls. top 2 and nfd... what else?
You didn't raise pot on the flop you minraised... and then when he 3bets why don't you gii? Call and fold turn? bleah
This is about as good as a flop you will get with that hand so if you plan on folding it you should fold that hand preflop.
I'd recommend you play 12% VPIP with such postflop skills.

You played the hand very weirdly. Fold pre for a starter and then the min raise flop? Not sure what you're trying to achieve. You've invested so much by then just get it in, you're never drawing dead and at least have 25/35% equity anyway

You guys are too much

Paolo, just so you're clear, "pot" is not just the amount of money that pokerstars shows in the middle of the table.

Example
16 cents in the middle after pre flop raises
Your opponent bet 8 cents, or half pot
- at this point, there is only 16 cents in the overall pot, so 8 cents is half pot bet

You raise to 16 cents
- yes, the middle pot does say 16 cents, but the addition of your opponents money and the fact that you have to at least call his bet to continue on has changed the "pot" value
- at this point "pot" is 16 cents from the middle, your opponents 8 cent bet, and the 8 cent bet that you have to call to match his bet = 32 cents
- in order to raise to pot, you have to take the above number and add it to your opponents bet of 8 cents -> 32 cents + 8 cents = 40 cents is a pot bet at this point (32 cents is your raise)

Your opponent raises the full amount
- the full amount is "pot"
- 16 cents in the middle + his original 8 cent bet + your 16 cent bet + the additional 8 cents he has to call to match your bet = 48 cents
- add the above 48 cents to your bet of 16 and your opponent can raise to 64 cents or a "pot" bet (48 cents is the raise, 64 is the overall pot bet)

for your info. i normally dont play like this. i pot flop and unless a real bad card gets on the turn i put it in there. this was a new line to take for me because i thought i was strong enough to min raise here. But then his raise gave me trouble because now i had to put him on a set. And vs a set i am an underdog.

Paulo, a very serious tip: Don't minraise when you have a really strong hand. It's the fishiest play I can think of. Legitimately straight up fishiest.

sometimes its good in 3b pots to minraise over cbet when you gin flop against someone not capable of thinking

but i get your point

He means on dynamic boards. There are a lot of situations on static boards where minraising is the only good play.

Well its a public forum and beginners who want to improve should be welcome.

What puts me off about him is how he defends his ******ed plays after we give him sound advice.
