All that reading this thread is telling me is. It's more important to be lucky in the end.

Yeah that's why I think it's so sick. Because there's some truth in it, obviously I'm not stupid enough to think I'm as good as Phil Galfond or even a normal 100plo grinder. I know I'm god awful but the matter of the fact is luck does seem to play a hefty role in ones success.

And all this ev crap doesn't even account when you get unlucky in the biggest pots, what if someone just happens to always run under EV whenever they play their biggest pot? Seeing all this EV stuff to me just makes me really just want to hang up the towel. If we we're to give a honest percentage here....

What percentage of luck does being good at poker play into? 5%? 30%?

There are different kinds of luck, and playing better tends to lead to the better type of luck.

There are players who get their money in with poor holdings and hit 1 outers, or 2 outers to crush peoples souls.

Then there are players who get their money in with hands that are behind, but have 10+ outs and get "lucky" on their draws to win pots. For instance pushing a wrap when someone happens to have top set.

You want to be the second type of lucky, because more often than not those are just situations that you would normally be ahead in, you just happened to be behind this time.

As many have stated, allin EV can be helpful, but doesn't always paint a true picture of what happened. Since I started playing omaha full time again in June, I've run over EV every month, and each month has started with a 10 - 18 buyin down swing where I run under EV lol. Some might call it luck that I've run good for the last 5 months, but somehow I just keep playing my own style and winning.

One thing I will say, is that there are a lot of good tips on this forum for how to play and how to address situations, but don't always take it as the gospel truth. Find a style that not only fits your game, but fits the type of players you're playing against. Bluff less, re-raise out of position less, play fewer pots HU out of position, and generally things seem to go well.
