*this is a troll-free thread - so keep your negative energy away*

So I have noticed that when I reraise small pre-flop (about 2/3 pot and not full pot) - I am significantly more likely to get 4bet very very lite (by recreational players and by regs). I have been doing this with Aces and the results are usually good.

Anyway, I have noticed that when I bet less than 1/2pot - 1/4 to 1/3 - and especially min-betting then I am going to get raised a lot more frequently when if I had bet they would have just called...

What is your strategy with min betting (betting 1bb) to induce?

Do you have a strategy for betting really small on the river to induce, and in what scenarios would you use it?

I see mostly recreational players using the 1bb bet to induce but it definitely gets many players to put in more chips and even spew in spots where they definitely wouldn't.

My experience has been that after you min-bet and then you come over the top and stack them, then with that player the play no longer works - lol - because they are afraid of getting owned (but there are new players coming in all the time). So then, do you have a strategy for exploiting that tendency? It seems that players, mostly recreational but some regs too, are way more timid and passive after getting outplayed once or twice and you can't pull the same trick on them again but then what would you do?

Peace!

Lol, I always wondered why some fish do this. Thanks for giving me some insight!

Majority of the time if you are betting small on the river in micros you aren't going to induce anything, they'll fold their junk, they will snap call their marginal hands and raise their strong hands

similar if you min bet donk like a lot of fish enjoy doing on streets other than the river you make it very easy for your opponent to play against you (plays similar to a check except makes you look weaker than just checking) (can draw for cards cheap, can raise for value when they have hands etc)

Also in 2017 you should probably always be 3betting full pot because people aren't raise folding

In some of the smaller (softer) stakes live games I play it's a common trend that players use smaller river sizings with their thin value hands like 2p/ set on straight board as an example. I like to exploit this by occasionally bluff raising these smaller river sizings and also working in some smaller river sizings with my nutted hands to induce bluffs or thin value raises in spots where my range has a lot of those thin value hands in it.

Bet could be value bet or bluff or protection. Induce is not the aim of a bet. Vs regs you just lose value in a long term. Vs fishes if you have good read obv you can exploit them with it but vs regs(better ones) it is just no sense at all obviously.

When someone bets 1bb they either made a misclick and meant to bet much more, or they are ****ing ******s.

Mostl of the time it's the latter, and I just treat it as if they checked.
