Re: Sticky Part 1: Collecting Fav. Threads:

gotta nijabump this.

To all the people here:

A sticky is lots of work, exspecially creating one out of nothing.
Honestly, i would like to see it happen.
But on the other side its not like i got enough time to do it by myself.
Either we get some good responses to this and the other thread or iŽll just dump the idea.

I have no personal feeling towards this topic. If there is not enough interest, we will keep things like they are. dont have a problem with that.

greets.

Re: Sticky Part 1: Collecting Fav. Threads:

Well, personally, I haven't been here long enough, or searched the old forum, to remember any sticky-worty threads. Good initiative, and I'm sorry I can't be of much help.

But trolls 25plo guide is probably sticky worty?

Re: Sticky Part 1: Collecting Fav. Threads:

This is just a start of some mostly recent threads. I would say that not all of them might deserve to be stickied. I still plan a long boring trawl through the archives, so more links should be coming. Hopefully some old-timers will have some threads in their favorites and will help out.

Re: Sticky Part 1: Collecting Fav. Threads:

Here's a good thread on metagame and slowplaying in PLO:
http://archives1.twoplustwo.com/show...0&fpart=1&vc=1

There's another thread somewhere where I argued with Ribbo for about 200 posts on whether you should raise draws in position, but I'll have to find that later. It's kind of tough to search the archives for generalized threads when your time frame is April to October.

Can you save threads to your account so you don't have to go and search? If so, how?

EDIT: NM I found it.

This is a thread about the transition from NLHE to PLO

Re: Sticky Part 1: Collecting Fav. Threads:

On reflection, we only need three threads as they all seem to follow the same kind of pattern:

1. Variance is my friend
Wonder at how grrrreat I play whilst being hit in the face by the deck. Cue Iggy.

2. Variance is *not* my friend
Wail at my woes as the 1000 to 1 shot hits me again. And again. Cue Jbird.

3. Shut the **** up you miserable old ****
Bitching and moaning and general mild unpleasantness. Cue BDD.

You got me by name and you still missed my favorite kind of thread ever. The "OMG, you don't know what you're talking about, you should never give poker advice again, I'm so much smarter than you". I do at least 2 of those a week. It's really fun when I get to rip a regular poster who's actually good at PLO (caught Wazz last night).

Re: Sticky Part 1: Collecting Fav. Threads:

Ok, here's the thread where I PWNPWNPWN the crap out of Ribbo: http://archives1.twoplustwo.com/show...0&fpart=8&vc=1

In addition to being a fun victory for me, it also clearly shows the benefits of flop aggression in PLO. If you took the average, decent, but fairly passive player who's roughly breakeven somewhere around the 1/2 level and forced them to read this thread, I'd guess their BB/100 would go up by at least 2.0. Really a solid illustrative strategy thread.

I miss Ribbo. Does anyone know what happened to him? We clashed a lot, but he was very helpful to have on the board to give a different perspective. In this instance, all it did was encourage me to explain why raising was right in more detail, but there were a lot of threads where he made me think about something in a different way and improved my game somewhat.

It sucks so bad.

I hit 2 straight flushes and a royal flush in my last 500 hands and I have no idea how to handle it. Any advice for this I'd welcome to be stickied.

Just checked his blog and apparently, he's playing PLO8 only right now. He hasn't posted on 2+2 since November.

Cue Iggy again?

More realistically, cue those guys who come here, post about 20 posts in 5 minutes about how kool PLO is (they're winning) then never post again (they're busto.)
