Villain seems like a reg. Has big stacks at several tables. I'm just wondering if the river play is close, or if it's an obvious not even close fold/call one way or the other. Thanks.

Pretty standard fold unless you're up against a notoriously tough villain. Your hand is basically face-up based on your bet sizing. Sucks playing pots out of position, huh?

It's hard for villain to float your check raise and call turn and somehow end up with air on this river, sets or some top 2p that turned a FD are mainly going to be the type of hands he plays this way, although villain can play his own 67xx this way trying to get you to fold a chop but I don't think that's often enough to warrant calling here.

Do not check call. Calculate equity vs. all boats and worse hands and chops and then either shove or check fold.

You are blocking a significant number of boats with your top pair here and this should be a fairly easy math shove/fold

Why would you advocate a shove? We never get called by worse, we might get him to fold the same hand, but very unlikely that he has that holding. I agree that math is needed to calculate his range, as we need to be good rougly 33% of the time given his bet. But if we shove, we win the pot when our str8 is good, and gets stacked when he has a boat. When checking, we can stack him (Given that he has some bluffs).

As played i checkfold river, as mentioned i dont see him having alot of bluffs here, specially not on this stake, so i dont think the call is profitable, even with the 9 blocker.

Not close, you are mostly calling to chop and villain might just take the showdown with a straight vs your line since hero could take that line with 2p or set

Other posters summed this up well, a good villain should have predominantly boats on this texture

Im not advocating a shove i said calculate the range he gets to the river with that calls and if its bigger than his boat range by whatever % you need then shove for value. I doubt it is. Checking is almost always with intention to fold here

He'd need some very exact cards to be bluffing here, namely 2 diamonds (one of which is the Ad or Kd), an 8, a 4, and probably a 6 or 7 as well. So I'd fold and don't really think it's close, but I'd still be miserable making it.

we know villain is not exploiting us because he called a huge check raise on the flop.

Yeah you need a ton of history with villain to call here. He needs to think you're bluffing enough that he'll call down with overpairs or crappy wheel draws, and then he needs to bluff river enough himself with those hands.
