Is that counter-strike you're referring to? I found out that one of the best ways to be able to balance poker with life is cutting the useless alone-time. You'd be amazed at how much more time you got on your hands when you don't play silly computer games or browse useless websites.

Please help... I used to be so good at this but lately I spend 8 hours a day in front of the comp playing/reading poker, and another 4 completely wasting my life. I definitely need a new hobby.

Yes it is counter strike but since I don't play that much poker/video games and I go to university 5days/week, go out twice a week, ... I think it's a good way to "romp" (not sure about the word though), a bit like sports.

But playing poker afterwards isn't a good idea

I used to play CS at a fairly high level in leagues like 4-5 years ago.

I had a lot of fun with it, but came to realise it was kinda useless fun. I mean, you have literally nothing interesting to talk about when you spend a lot of time playing counter-strike. It's similar to poker, but the difference is money. It'd be entirely similar if you played playmoney poker.

The CS community is also pretty f-ed up. It's like a parallel universe to BBV. Immaturity all over the place.
