New to PLO, just going through Hwang's first book and ran into an interesting hand earlier today. Got dealt AAJA rainbow playing 6-max PLO5 and UTG. Because 3-pair hands aren't good and I had no flush possibilities I folded pre. Good play?
Also, is the hand an easy play if I have one suited ace?
Have you looked at the equity for AAAxss? That is not a fold normally if the majority of your pots are heads up. At plo5 that probably never happens as everyone sees every flop but AAAxss is a great hand in a real plo game and should be played as one and not folded pre.
never looked at the equity for AAAx but didnt realise its so close. whilst you're right that equity is very similar, it is still a dog vs a ds rundown. however, you do have a valid point regarding equities.
