I know is a spew and I am shocked he folded. After the hand I was thinking about what the right play is facing a bet.

i fold.
youre screwed pretty often and flip alot vs all kinds of combodraws, pair+draw stuff.
youre only really ahead when villain goes bananas. but since he still has all of the other stuff its still a fold imo.
dead money is plenty after your bet but its still too close i guess.

1) 3bet is totally fine especially vs a villain with a wide opening range.
cr is overplayed imo. just bet. getting it in if raised is fine. when you cr you fold out a lot that youre ahead of and get it in with the very best of villains range which you might be in bad shape against.
when you just cbet villain will continue with a lot and your bet will clearly be for value.
im not sure if theres merit in checkcalling. i guess it would miss value.

2) youre getting payed off by 77 too.
however im not sure if most villains will pay you off with two pair here too often even though the fd has missed.
i personally check behind but could be too nitty.

btw i think that the hand is too weak to 3bet. on the other hand it plays better hu than multiway.
would like to hear more thoughts on this.

3) fold turn imo. unless you have a solid read on villain being crazy aggro (limpcalling pre doesnt suggest that this is the case) then youre either drawing dead or have lots of dirty outs vs a 9.
river is a fold too imo.

hm sick hand. i personally would never do it. since you have a pair in your hand your equity isnt really great when called by aces. if you had 6789 it would prolly still be spew vs most but your equity is much better.

i guess just folding is the right play. mayyybe float if he 3bets lots, cbets lots and has a tendency to give up if called and not having a very strong hand.
its a rare combo of a player though i think.

@past_pluto, i never fold there when he has < potsize left, i'd probably just shove if i don't have any reads. otherwise c/c to catch bluffs might be a good option.
i've seen the weirdest holdings in these situation by short/midstackers.

slycbnew: i really want to bet/fold the river there as well. c/c will probably send you on sort of a negative freeroll, he checks when you're ahead and bets when you're beat. mb not completely, but mostly.

shoobri: i don't like it. i think you're overplaying your hand there, preflop and on the turn. i personally raise about my 3betting range against limpers when i'm in the blinds. that's mostly very good hands. flop bet is obvious, on the turn tho, i think checking or betting smth like half pot is best. by that you can squeeze some more value out of the hand if you're ahead and have him dead or close to it (quite likely). once he minraises your potbet i'd be very concerned that possibility b) is where you're at, being beat and drawing dead or very close to it. the real mistake is probably the potbet on the turn, i feel like you're chasing away all his weaker hands and keeping only the stronger ones in.

pathfinder: yes. standard. that's a good flop for your hand especially with the J blockers.

pokyrys: in position you don't really have to ship it right on the flop but i guess it's not a big mistake either. against passive players who have a set there 95% of the time i'd call and see a turn. getting it in on this particular one, so it wouldn't have made a difference here : )
