Re: *~* Quick Checkup Thread - PLO flavour *~*

Mixed PL Holdem and Omaha Tournament. Started with 135, 18 left. pays 27.

I'm in 2nd and the first place guy is to my left. The small stack just lost a big pot and has 2K chips left. I figure he's pushing with anything.

Poker Stars $2.00+$0.20 Pot Limit Omaha Hi Tournament - t200/t400 Blinds - 9 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

BB: t11294 M = 18.82
UTG: t5480 M = 9.13
UTG+1: t11900 M = 19.83
UTG+2: t2035 M = 3.39
MP1: t7420 M = 12.37
MP2: t1205 M = 2.01
Hero (CO): t29655 M = 49.42
BTN: t35580 M = 59.30
SB: t5810 M = 9.68

Pre Flop: (t600) Hero is CO with 8 A 6 A
2 folds, UTG+2 raises to t1400, 2 folds, Hero raises to t2800, BTN raises to t10400, 2 folds, UTG+2 calls t635 all in, Hero raises to t29655 all in, BTN calls t19255

Should I have folded? I time banked and thought of all the possible hands the other guy had. How far ahead are AA to any other hand? I obviously realize that any sort of lead preflop in Omaha is more like 65% or so, but I also figured if I won the hand, I'm pretty much going to ride to the final few with such a big stack over the rest of the field...at the same time, do I risk somewhat of a coinflip when I'm in 2nd? Help me out!

if he's clueless & aggressive, isn't this a nice spot to expect him to fire a ton? c/r?

i'd be looking to check rather than bet. if i bet and get raised like that, i'm looking to call down. unless villain is a major spewfish and you can expect him to stack off a lot of hands that you dominate OR he's willing to raise/fold worse flushes, there's no real point in playing that aggressively, as there's no cards in the deck that can hurt you. so leave him some space to bluff.
i might also fold preflop, really hating these sort of very crappy kings.

probably doesn't matter much, as long as you don't fold.
against someone this predictable, you can probably save a little money if you flat the flop and fold non-club A, 2, 4 turns. might also get a free card on the turn, so i'd probably flat it.

not very familiar with tournament PLO, but looks like you should raise bigger the first time around, then just go with it. you really can't do anything wrong, as played i think your 4bet has even got some fold equity against the BTN, so definitely fine.
if he was bad and to your right, thus likely to give you the chips anyway, i might wait for something better, but i don't see myself folding this as played.

I'm still learning but I like to think I'm getting there as far as being skillful goes. The villain was probably the only one at the table that I thought was actually pretty good. My small raise was kind of trying to show "I don't want to commit too many chips with this hand" to induce someone else coming over the top of me, but when the good player and the only guy in the tournament that has me covered raised the pot on me, I was like "crap" but at the same time, I figured him for kings or a very well connected hand and said screw it and shoved. I really didn't mind getting all in with a shorter stack but anyway, it happened like it happened. He had KKT9 or something and he spiked a K on the river to knock me out. I don't care too much about the results as much as the following question:

How far ahead is AAxx of 4 connected high cards, like KQJT? Is it always like, at least a 60% favorite? I realize I want more cards to go with the AA to make it a strong hand, but is AA-rag-rag still a fav preflop?

Personally without specific reads for 100bb I would have jammed with overpair and bdnfd but I guess it depends how much variance you want in the game.
