Only a small stakes player but would like to know if "EV $ Dif" is something I should be concerned with? For example, the hand below i managed to get it all in against villain for a full buy in at 0.02/0.05 PLO (that's right ma...............nose bleeds!)

However, Omaha manager says this was -$4.93 "EV $ Dif", could anyone explain why?

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $0.05(BB) Replayer
Hero ($5)
BB ($5.49)
UTG ($6.09)
UTG+1 ($5.71)
CO ($7.14)
BTN ($7.65)

Dealt to Hero 8 9 A A

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.15, BB raises to $0.45, Hero raises to $1.35, BB calls $0.90

FLOP ($2.70) 8 9 7

Hero bets $2.59, BB raises to $4.14 (AI), Hero calls $1.06 (AI)

TURN ($10) 8 9 7 K

RIVER ($10) 8 9 7 K Q

Hero shows 8 9 A A
(Pre 59%, Flop 48.7%, Turn 67.5%)

BB shows 4 8 7 T
(Pre 41%, Flop 51.3%, Turn 32.5%)

Hero wins $9.61

You had "only" 49% of equity on the flop when you got allin. That means that in the long run you will end up winning only 49% in this spot. EV Diff. ist now the difference between the amount you won and that what was your actual Expected Value was in this spot. You won the hand and a pot of 9,61$ but your equity of the pot was only 0,49x9,61$= 4,71$. In the long rund you win only 4,71$. Now you can calculate the difference between 9,61$ (what you won) and that what you was expected to win (4,71$). 9,61$-4,71$= 4,9$

So in the long rund you would win 4,9$ less in this spot than you acutally did...

When the EV diff. is negative (red) than it tells you only that you were "lucky" in that spot and won more that you actually deserved. Easy said....

TL;DR

EV Diff = money won - expected won * -1.

eg expected to won 10 - 5 expected * -1 = $evdiff of -$5
