I struggle with aces big time. I pretty much never 3bet pre unless I can get most of the money in - it just seems like you always get called against TP or w/e and obv they hit. I thought it was just runbad but looking at percentages AA sucks postflop.
Villain is a reg but no notes. Normally I just flat pre but then I just x/f 80% of flops it seems pointless so I thought I'd man up...I'm looking at this flop and seeing nothing good, and a bet commits us because of all the pair+draws he can have (surprise! he'd be a favourite).
Is this incredibly weak? I'm not worried about getting exploited because it's PLO5. Thoughts would be appreciated
Pre is obviously standard, and with SPR2 bet/calling this flop is also completely standard. The problem with checking is just that it gives free cards and villain will usually have enough bluffs that check/fold will never be that much better than check/call anyway.
Without a clear read, its best to make sure you don't get exploited and to protect your hand. You'd also probably be surprised at how often people won't fold QQ-KK or a random jack.
Bet/ship EZ game. Think you might need to consider opening up your 3/4bet range.. if i see someone who only 3/4bets premium AA** i'm often floating boards like these when SPR is high enough
I don't mind check jam because as someone noted he could have kK or QQ pretty often. Against better players we should pot.
To the above guy "floating" so he can maneuver with turn spr around 0.3. Gl with that
My point being that hero wouldn't 4b or blindly shove naked AA if floating were an option
