Preflop: Hero is SB with A 8 A K
UTG raises to $0.75, MP raises to $1.25, CO folds, BTN calls $1.25, Hero raises to $6, 2 folds, MP calls $4.75, BTN calls $4.75
I like flatting this deep an giving Utg a chance to put in another bet where we can then come over the top. If that doesn't happen we can play perfectly post since we can flop big or fold.

I decided to check instead of bet on the turn because his aggression was quite high. I figured that betting would fold out a larger portion of his weak range than check/raising, while I would always be getting it in against his 3x. It turned out that it worked in this situation, but afterwards I wasn't sure if it was the right play, so I thought I would post it here. I think in this spot against this fishy agro villain, it was the right play.
I definitely think checking the turn is better than betting - you get it in vs all the hands that would have called your shove + all the hands that would fold to a shove but bet themselves.
