I had reads on him that he was pretty passive and station

With the board pair yes I fold otr, no b pair I'm calling down with the 2nf for 1/2 psb

As for pf, really depends on the blinds. The worse they are, the more I like a call.

Bad/loose players will play garbage flushes like this and will have a lot in their wide pf range, so I actually call river even though I'm expecting to mostly just be beat.

The fact that you guys even consider folding this hand pre blows my mind. For me the question is if i 3ball here or not. Never ever folding, never.
As played looks close, but probably folding as we don't even have the nutflush.

I'd fold on the turn already lol as we block strong draws and he's passive AF he probably has lots of sets in his range on the flop so when it pairs OTT I think I'm beat most of the time. Not to mention that sometimes he shows us with nut flush. I'd call preflop for sure.

Yes, my head kinda exploded also. Calling here would be mixing it up for me, 3 betting huge %.

Fold PF??? Hell no. You should put in a small raise against a 70/15/0 when you're on the button. If one of the blinds 3-bets then you have some thinking to do!

On the flop, if you're against top set you're a 65% dog so that should give you a little perspective just in case you thought about jamming and getting it all in. As played, a call on the turn isn't horrible but I'm glad you folded the river.

When someone that passive is betting on all streets especially when the board pairs, you're toast! Fold. Be pissed for a second and move on. Your profit comes from making less mistakes than him. It's frustrating because he's a station, however, just look back at the hand. Was he calling or betting? He was doing something out of character and that should have triggered all sorts of alarms. Looks like it did...good fold.

A small raise pre? How much?

Sorry for the delayed response. I wasn't subscribed to this post. The original PF raise was $0.87 so just a min raise to $1.75 to sweeten the pot a little. No reason to spaz out and pot PF especially against a passive player. You have a wonderfully speculative hand that has potential to hit the flop hard hard. So it's best to keep the calling station in the hand if you do nail the flop with a big draw.

Why is potting "spazzing out"?

Because against a passive player you don't want to scare them away. I don't know what villain's fold to 3bet stats are but in my experience, weak/passive players are more likely to fold to pot sized 3bets pre flop. It's best to keep them in the hand with a pot sweetener.
