V is wide 3b in these games, 16% (4/16) from BB vs steal

Is this a good hand to 4b?

Should we be stacking off here?

4bet is ambitious to say the least.
Flop is guess I stack off - should have enough equity vs range.

dbl suited you 4b? which hands do you 4b against wide 3b?

Or do you like to play IP more with this hand?

What hands do you 4b in this spot?

Depends on exactly what "wide" is.

AKT4 ds is a 4-bet HU against a ~15% 3-betting range; the single-suited versions aren't quite strong enough even at ~20%, considering the abundance of A***/$R$R** (high-card stuff, basically) that would actually be pushing equity and/or playability edges.

A*** is any hand with an ace. $R$R** is any hand with at least two broadway cards. I meant pairs JJ and higher, but I derped; $R$R doesn't signify two broadway cards of the same rank. That can be confusing in light of what "RR" does. Luckily I don't ever use $R$R.

The asterisks are superfluous, of course, but it's less obvious in print that "A/$R$R" is PPT syntax. It kind of just looks like weird math.

Guess it depends if we think villain is shoving any flop - if villain thinks we mostly have high pairs so c/f this kind of flop with a hand that doesn't connect at all we're in pretty bad shape vs his remaining range. If villain thinks we are 4betting light guess we have to call.

+1

OOP I would like the 4bet but IP I prefer flatting. I don't hate the 4-bet though and think it's fine every now and then with this type of hand (against a high 3bettor) since it doesn't play that well post flop but hot/cold equity against a high 3-bet% is good enough. If villain puts us on AA as well he might incorrectly fold some of his hands on the flop which is very +ev for us. It also creates an aggressive dynamic (which is good) and villain might tone down on his betting some-what.
