Hey! This is a hand from todays session. Villains line feels a bit wierd. Villain is very aggressive postflop. I think hes range is kinda polarized, he can have sets or JQ or just some wierd hand that he turns into a bluff. Should I call or not? Cheers

It's not a great board for a bluff attempt, merely mediocre. I think that makes him likely to have a stronger hand. Your best case outside of a bluff is that he has J/Q. He probably feels good that he's ahead with that, and it leaves you with only 10 outs to improve.

He's unlikely to bluff UTG without at least top two or a set here with two people behind to act. If he flopped a set of jacks you're down to 8 outs which is pretty awful pot odds considering his PSB.

Even if he's bluffing, you don't know whether you're behind the BTN too, who's the wild card that called a 3/4 bet on the flop. The BTN is also down to 18bb at this point so there's a good chance he's calling here with bottom set or a wrap.

This is a pure math spot. Play aroung with PPT. You have to fold given stacks.

Just to clarify the Math

START OF HAND
UTG 10.54
HERO 19.16
----------------
flop stack sizes
UTG(-0.45)10.09
HERO(-0.45)18.71
---------------------
TURN STACKS UGT POTS 5.65
UTG(-5.65)4.44
HERO(-0.45)18.71

POT IS $11.30 YOU NEED 5.65 TO CALL AND BASICALLY YOU HAVE A NUT FLUSH DRAW VS HIM. THAT MEANS YOUR A 2/1 DOG. MEANING TO BREAK EVEN YOU NEED TO GET A MINIMUM OF 5.65 ON THE RIVER IF YOU HIT FROM HIM. HIS BET TIMES 2X. SO YOU CAN FOLD. BECAUSE THE MOST YOU CAN MAKE IS $4.44 FROM HIM ON THE RIVER.

NOW, IF HE WAS DEEPER AND HAD $20 TO START THIS HAND HE WOULD HAVE $14.44 BEHIND HIM ON THE RIVER. YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF WILL HE AT LEAST PAY ME $5.65 IF I HIT THE RIVER TO BREAK EVEN? BUT WE DONT WANT TO BREAK EVEN. WE WANT TO MAKE MONEY.

SO NOW ASK YOURSELF WILL HE PAY ME MORE THAN $5.65 ON THE RIVER IF I HIT? IF YES THEN IT CAN BE A CALL. BUT THE CLOSER TO BREAK EVEN $5.65, THE MORE YOU WANNA FOLD. BE LOOKING FOR THE BETTER PAYOFF GETTING THE BIGGEST PAYDAY POSSIBLE FROM DEEPER STACKED PLAYERS IF YOUR DRAWING.

SO IF HE/SHE STARTED WITH $20 AND HAS 14.44 BEHIND AND I HIT AND BET 1/2 POT AND HE/SHE CALLS I WILL WIN 6.65. THATS (6.65-5.65) 1.00 OR AN EXTRA 10BB OVER BREAK EVEN.

*THIS IS JUST HOW I UNDERSTOOD THE MATH, IS THIS BASICALLY RIGHT EVERYBODY ? *

Hey man, I'd be willing to shout you a brand new keyboard if you're having issues with the caps lock button.

I fold, as said above you don't have enough outs against a made hand and I think that made hands (better than yours) are a big part of his pot donking range here.
