Hi, guys,

Villain is on the fishy side. Is this a shove 100% of the time?
Should I just call against a nit?

Against a fishy player, I just shove it in and you might find yourself up against like AAxx, which with a 3bet pre is quite likely.

If it was a different situation I can see flatting against a nit because they are either going to fold a worse hand or you lose to a 9. I think with the 3bet pre vs. a nit you still shove and expect AAxx to call off because there's what $1.50 behind after his bet on the river.

But also, just bet the flop and then we'd be basically all in on the turn and the problem solved.

Shove yeah. Villain hardly expects you to show up with 9x or QQ when you check the flop so if he has AA he thinks his hand is the nuts. Villain himself is unlikely to have quads given he checks flop AND then just c/c turn.

Oh yeah. WTF were you thinking with checking flop. Just bet it. You would with bluffs, so definitely have to when you are as huge as you are.

As a strategy for bluffs in 3-bet pots do you think that ~30% pot is a good strategy.

It still allows us to get our stack in by the river with value and risks little to fold villains value range out, what do you think?

It depends on the board texture (among other things) - on a paired but flushing board like this then 25-30% is a good size to use for bluffs and really strong hands. I would bet a little larger (35-40%) with some 9xxx as well as some complete air hands that I don't want to fire 2 streets (for the most part)

On a Q77r we can size even smaller and shouldn't need to bet more than 30% with any of our range.
