OOP without the inititive, nut FD with at least TP (the ace) makes for an easy CR to get committed on the flop, but as it was checked through, our hero did not have the chance the CR, sp pot/pot after the flush hit the turn makes perfect sense.
Now if our hero had position, with or without the inititive, and decided to check behind with the nut FD with at least TP to go with it, than it makes trying to represent the nut flush a lot more difficult. For this reason, it is sometimes well worth checking behind with the nut FD to encourge action when you do hit the turn.
