I've learned so much and enjoyed the back and forth with all the top pros who are much better players than I am. I thought I'd give back with some basic leak plugs that you see in the smaller stakes.

Top Gaps: When your hand has gaps at the top (4579 as opposed to 4689), you flop non-nutted wraps and dominated draws. Keep those gaps in the middle and bottom

Overplaying Overpairs: If the SPR is small (say 1.3 or less) you can stack off with AA/KK at will, but at greater depths you will not find good EV when someone gets it in with you. Bet/fold is ok!

Weak draws: You constantly find yourself in spots where all you have is a medium flush draw and nothing else but unlikely backdoors. You should get used to folding that, even against the most aggressive of opponents

Two hold 'em hands: QJ56ds is not an omaha hand! I'd way rather have a crappy 3 card hand (468Q) than 2 good 2 card hands (QJ56).

Fear of getting raised: This is of course villain dependent, but you will make much more money betting your marginal equity (and having to fold to raise) than checking back and trying to realize it.

Unbalanced ranges: Against good regs, you must take suboptimal lines occasionally in order to widen your ranges. This might include checking back the nuts (uncapping your checkback range), check calling with top set with a low SPR, floating a flop with mostly backdoor equity, etc. It doesn't have to be frequent and it doesn't have to be against everybody - just make sure it's there.

Respect the river raises: At lower stakes, a river raise is often the effective nuts. Laying down big hands when the pot is big will easily turn a slight loser into a slight winner.

Give up the boards that everyone loves: Certain boards just hit everyone. Q86 and J75 is simply never getting 2 folds. If you're the preflop aggressor and have AA you are just better off check/folding, for the most part.

Open up your ranges vs aggros: If someone's being too aggressive with you, you have to get it in with them lighter than usual. Good hands to throw into your check-jam range are hands that have equity vs anything yet anything has good equity vs you. i.e. 4567hh on KT75hh board.

If you're going to call anyways, bet: This one is fairly standard but way too often I see players check/call flop and check/call turn with huge draw when c/r flop was clearly better.

Some of these are not necessarily true and can be disputed, but that's what I have off the top of my head. Good luck!

This seems to go against my usual advice of "just don't fold and you should be OK".

I think I might be uncomfortable with that

Thanks for some great pointers. I am familiar with all of this, but still this is the kind of post i want to reread over and over again before the next session to keep the right mindset.

I won't let this solid thread be bumped away that fast without being added to the Grand Digest and possibly amplified with more advice! I can't disagree with a single statement in the OP, thanks for putting it together!
