A big part of those videos can still be a big help. I know when I started, after watching one or two "beginners" videos, the next ones became worthless because they all just went over the same things. I'm pretty sure every video was paused for 5 minutes after getting dealt 4468ds into bb, and a long explanation about how it may look good to hold em players and but how it really isn't.

Obv still start with those videos if you've never played PLO before. Standard opening ranges etc.

Hi Guys,

I am a PLO noob. I'm looking for a steer on the best site to play on while I'm on a learning curve? I currently play PLO10, I'm rolled to play a little higher but want to stay at PLO10 until I can see that my game has solidified.

I have accounts on stars and iPoker, as I get 55% rb on iPoker I think that's probably my best bet but I do much prefer stars software. Or would I be better placed opening an account somewhere else?

Cheers,

Enoch

Hi Enoch,

since you have a good deal on iPoker, I'd play there. Rakeback is super important in micros and the players are equally bad everywhere.

If you can dedicate yourself to playing on stars all year and play quite high volume, then Stars might be an option. For low volume (under 25k hands per month) I'd stick to iPoker.

Cheers and gl!

HOW/wHERE DO YOU GET 55% RB?

best i ever got was 41 % of a rakeback site.

It is not that hard to find. I am currently grinding a deal worth over 60% and it is not even a flat RB under the table kinda thing

I'm on William Hill, I think deals like this are pretty common/available, checkout the rakeback thread under Internet Poker.

Cheers,

What range would you open on BTN vs players with vpip/pfr/3b a) 60/50/30 and b) 80/10/2. I know depends on postflop tendencies etc, but generally vs high vpip stationy players post do you tighten up because unable to get FE both pre and post, or do you just cbet less and effectively c/f when you miss. vs some serious maniacs I generally just l/c and try to get stacks in when I hit because they don't like folding, but struggling to find the right balance vs stations where I seem to barrel off too much.

If we're talking 100bb+, I'd open a wide range vs both, but leave out hands that play poorly in 3bet pots vs the LAGtard (A)such as AQ72ss, J773ss, etc. In other words, hands that don't flop well. That said, if he plays really poorly post, I'm prob minraise/calling everything and trying to catch him spewing.

Ty, do you cbet air vs stations? Sometimes they call down with TP no redraw, so I think c/f all air is better and just vbet wider, or would you still bet some air?

4b has been incredibly useful for me, I remember a hand where I got in 400bb+ with KKxx due to a guy being a super maniac, not being r/o been useful in other spots when deciding whether to get in 100bbs with a hand or not vs maniacs. I guess if you play close attention to all tables and always take notes its fine, but really helpful when you see the stat next time you see the same villain.

I've created a bunch of profiles on stars using the colour coded system, and just select one of those everytime I see villain make a bad play since most mistakes fall into one category or another. Some of them I have are: overplays overpairs(stacks off with an overpair in dumb spot), station (1 pair/weak draws), super station(doesn't fold bluffcatcher on river), bet sizing tell(and then I'll note the specifics), very aggressive(ie capable of bluff/semi-bluff raising in a spot where his range hits the board more than us), doesn't bluffs missed rivers(a lot of villains just don't bluff missed rivers even in good spots), bluffs missed rivers(bluff in bad spot), overplays hands pre(gets it in with non premium hand for stacks) and for the real whales I just have idiot and take specific notes.

No, unless the board is really dry (A73r, K82r, JJ4). You'll get plenty of chances to pick up the pot OTT when villain checks to you. You obv gotto value bet really wide on all streets vs these players, they're not gonna raise you off marginal hands.

i think you guys are missing ****loads of value if you are multitabling and relying on cluttered HUDs.

vpip/pfr/3b/cbet + specific notes >>>> 3 rows of numbers in HUD with a random note here and there

1.- best training video site for PLO25 and PLO50? not Card runners, i dont wanna pay the $ 100 first deposit fee.

2.- im a full time microgrinder (6-9 hours daily) 4k+ hands daily, i play on stars i have supernova status and make 500k vpps on 2011 playing cap 20 tables, and learning now PLO im planning for this year 250k-300k VPPS with 10-11 tables, should i stay on stars or consider play on another site with more rakeback?, i know some rooms give 60%+ rakeback, but i see the games at IPOKER are more nitty than stars and have only 13-17 tables, and i read a post who say that ipoker charge fees for play on EURO tables and Pounds Sterling if ur account is on USD, i see the games ok on stars 1-2 big fish per table (25PLO) with good table selection, so should i try another sites, maye party if they put gladiator promo but not this month?

Ty guys
